 | Watched it. Toward the end of May December Moore's character turns to a once 12 year old "manboy" she raped and asks "Who was in charge? Who? You were!." May December is an excellent film - from the beautiful direction of Haynes, to the glorious acting of Moore and Portman. The movie is a character study of 2 very manipulative women. Moore's performance reveals her pathology in the most subtle of ways, she is masterful at manipulating those around her. She puts the ick in sick. Portman on the other hand is just as devious. You may not like the subject matter but the film is engrossing, and never exploitive of the subject matter. The score of this movie is also worth noting, it uses a few dramatic piano notes to punctuate scenes creating tonal changes- it works well. |

| "Free speech" does not mean that anyone is obligated to provide to you a platform on which to speak; it means that the government cannot crack down on unpopular speech (which is actually what is being protected, popular speech needs no protection). If you are so upset about your "freeze peach" then go get a website and rant and rave there all that you want, or get a soapbox and a megaphone and find a street corner. I like to also think this about movies as they do with books (exceptions of course): any movie/book worth banner is a movie/book worth watching/reading. |

|  PLOT SPOILER We enjoyed this  An interesting character study  And there was plenty to study  Julianne Moore's character over as very manipulative And who gives a fat kid a scale for graduation  Worth watching just for Natalie Portman, she is as hot as Hell |

| It is surprising in a nice way that a woman (Portman) would come up with a script like this and cast the gender roles the way it was You would really be expecting a girl being exploited, used and abused by two mean, nasty women It certainly made for a refreshing change to see the baddies portrayed as woman and played so brilliantly  Moore and Portman deserve some kudos for this |

| This was a good watch Our sympathies lay with the guy The two female protagonists (Moore and Portman) we a right pair of bad apples  Manipulative, exploitative and real mean they were This movie kept throwing curve-balls and adding new information so you weren't quite sure who to believe If you like engaging adult-themed dramas this is worth a shot |

When I first read jaxe's comment I thought to myself "yep, just quoting sources & providing a possible warning to others who may not like viewing movies like this". His opinion of a "hard pass" was realistically a minor part of the comment & no different to the dozens of similar comments people from all walks of life post every week.
