 | The director basically does mostly horror films. the Rec franchise films/quarantine and a few others. Veronica from 2017 was one of his better efforts. Typically his films are mostly average to somewhat good efforts. I may give it a go but i am kind of worn out with the nun genre. Thanks for the share. |

| Watched it. The movie opens in 1939 in black and white with a young nun experiencing an event. 10 years later that same nun arrives at a convent to educate young girls. Sister Narcia – primary character, reminds me of a young Meg Tilly. If you enjoy movies about nuns then you have hit the jackpot, there are screaming nuns, possessed nuns, bleeding nuns, nuns that levitate, evil nuns, passive aggressive nuns, and of course praying nuns. The problem with this film and the most egregious is the dubbing. It completely bastardizes the entire movie. The movie lacks any real suspense, the suspense it does contain consists of chairs being overturned, hangman figures on the wall, and screaming. There is very little tension. The movie uses a soundtrack that is remarkably better than most. There are snippets of a “trent reznor, industrial sound” layered into the score. The movie becomes tedious and bland. |
