What's there to regret? Regret is only worthwhile if it leads to learning how to do better. I somehow sympathize with Watertiger. Imagine: a synergetic hivemind collective, egoless, rational and efficient, unified in being and purpose, clear of divisive differences, harmonious intelligences joined in a virtual realm travelling deep space to peacefully explore without interfering in existing ecospheres, dedicated solely to contemplation and understanding... |
A/V = 10/10. Interesting subject but, as a movie, overall a little lame. Technologically speaking it was all still too primitive for my taste. I concluded that the next best evolutionary step for our species would be to fully emancipate ourselves from Mother Nature and become virtual denizens of a virtual realm, thus shedding our biological nature and the flaws, dependencies, and problems that come with it. Which doesn't mean that it would be an unmixed blessing - nothing our species touches and creates is - but it would be something entirely new worth while exploring. |
