THe movie is worth watching to hear the lengthy monologues Malkovich spits out. His face reminds me of juliette Binoche with respect to how he can display serious dread punctuated with confusion and comedic style. The humor is dark. This movie is an example of a entertaining low budget movie. The best line is " but, can he put a lid on it?. |
Sorry!!! I meant to hit the upvote!! I'm always doing that |
@LiberalLesbo. Been there. Accidentally done that! |
R.I.P. Julian Sands who plays Rufus. We lost a wonderful actor this year. |
I made it to the end, but just barely. 90% is Malkovich monolog. That may be a + or - for you? I loved the modern style dialog in the Roman setting. Not putting it in my save library. |
Yeah, a real John Malkovich movie, glad he's sticking to himself, wouldn't be surprised if he wrote it himself either, everything is fake, even the blood in your veins. |
I will get this and watch it because the director has a good track record: RED (2010) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1245526/ Der Hauptmann aka The Captain (2017) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6763252/ Flightplan (2005) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408790/ |
It is a bit lame, but John Malkovich plays his part well. 5. Thanks GalaxyRG |
I'll watch it just to see Malkovich. He is such a Great Oddball Actor like Chris Walken. |
Any chance to get hearing impaired or word-by-word subtitles in English for this one? Not the "AI" translation from German back to English. |
I can't take movies like this that are so thematic and not realistic. (eg, Nero wearing sunglasses.) I mean, all I keep thinking is: Why? Why does director want to constantly remind us we're watching actors in a movie? |
He wears shades? What, in ancient rome the dudes got shades? did they have eye glasses and his top inventor has created them or is it blatantly a plastic pair? I could believe they had sunglasses quite easily. Im going to watch it. i don't get it. |
It's a movie, not a documentary. Aren't the dialogs more important than the props? Don't such anachronistic props show that the story is of all times? |
because he wants all that middle aged woman & LGBTQ dollar i mean Malkovich has been riding that crowd since he was born... no pun intended... or was it? |
@Guest-3767. At least he was'nt wearing a watch in the middle of a major battle scene. |
Yeah. They are constantly introducing modern props: Seneca wielding a comically large, obviously non-functional microphone. (So edgy!) The 1970s are calling: they want their motifs back. |
You know they had sunroofs on their chariots too right? Sorry to break it to you. I know it hurts right now but it will pass. |
Thanks for the upload and the brilliant comments. That's why this is the only community ive joined since FB. might of signed up to reddit actually .. f##k knows but i love me some TG banter and sometimes some good reviews too! |
Nope, that can't be the reason for you signing up — it makes no sense. You can read the comments and download the torrent without signing up. Think about what really did make you decide to sign up; we don't need to know, but properly analyse your own motives. |
Nero was the crazy emperor that played the lyre while Rome burned... according to legends; but it has never been factually proven to be true or not by modern historians and scientists. |
