Such a let-down sequel to a great franchise. Patrick Wilson is a great actor but no so great at directing, and his cringe version of Shakespeare's Sister's brilliant 'Stay' felt like self-indulgent nonsense. The was no horror, the family was broken up and fragmented with no chemistry, the iconic demon was criminally squandered. And the 'girlfriend' was a superfluous character who seemed tacked on with no real role. Yeah. Patrick, love you as an actor but give directing a miss. Hard to believe James Wan and Leigh Whannell were involved in this stinker. |
Absolutely boring and pointless film and does nothing for the franchise. Plot is unnecessary and painfully pushed at the audience. It had a couple jump scares which it seems is all Fakewood can do these days, there's no buildup of tension except an attempt in the CAT scan (sorry spoiler alert). My gf fell asleep 20 min in and she loves the franchise and that speaks volumes if you knew her love of horror films |
You can easy tell how low valuable this franchise has become, when you observe the amount of props the are using. It has much declined from year to year |
We haven't watched this movie yet but our worst nightmare is be coming trapped, left alone in an MRI scanning machine |
The frst 2 were so long ago Id forgotten what its all about and kept asking myself why is Vera Farmiga gone missing? One good thing though Dalton didnt get swapped for an ethnically diverse, gender fluid teen. |
Dunno about swapping out But the producers have swapped in, if that is even a thing , an ethically diverse, gender fluid teen called 'Chris' |
I wont even get there. Hollywood these days are casting just about anybody only for an academy nomination ticket. |
You do realise that your second post contradicts your first, cyanide? |
@Guest-1248 nope it doesnt. My 1st post showcases relief for not 'mis'casting one of the main characters. Second post expresses nonchalance toward a secondary side character bearing no significance in the furtherance of the plot. Hey, but Id love to sit and chat more... if I cud... |
Not the best of the bunch. I just watched all 5 in a row. I'd say 1,2,3 were the best 4 was OK 5 was meh. |
Terrible movie so boring to watch even if i like watching horror movies 4/10 ! |
Yeah, I don't know just seemed like it took way to long to set up the actual point and to bring the (and I use this term loosely) "Horror" probably the least effective in the franchise. The introduction of the black gender friendly female felt more like the reverse of the current dilemma with trans male having inappropriate access to female safe spaces and just felt odd. I like Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson, Lin Shaye's cameo felt like an obvious vehicle to connect this film to the franchise because it was always Linn Shaye that carried previous Insidious films. |
I always thought it was a very solid Horror Franchise. There are so many Horror movies that are so much worse. It's not supposed to be gory or shocking. |
