"highlighting the complexities of loss and injustice skilled by First Nations Australians." It took me ages to work out that "skilled" was used as the wrong synonym for "experienced". |
Its black and white so it must have some sort of existential meaning, like the hole in the poster could mean the hole the each of us have in our souls when david bowie died. |
"The film uses breathtaking black-and-white cinematography to create an ominous atmosphere that emphasises isolation and desolation - further underscoring each character's plight through extended shots coupled with minimal dialogue that helps viewers feel every ounce of pain each character experiences." 👍 |
Last (mosaic) pic with some children on the back seat looks like snapped from my childhood trips. |
i wont watch a modern black and white film unless it has willem dafoe in it |
A good movie that doesn't lose anything from being b&w. The portrayal of the police attitude is a bit insulting though. Even so I give the movie 9/10. (Simon's character solves the case btw) |
Eventhough Karen G isn't on this one, I'll torrent the living $!T out of it, hoping for a better, stronger, future with more glorious, ominous, sad black & white flicks in it! |
Oh dear, another Racial Grievance movie from Australia. It's not filmed in B&W, it's filmed in Black Vs White. |
Two movies in one day where the white man can learn to hate himself. 2nd pass of the day for me. |
Oh, justsomedude6x, I don't think anybody will ever convince you that there are some things about the White man that are very much worth that education |
There have been so many Aussie shows and movies over the past few years with this plot. Jaded city detective rolls into small town to investigate the death of an Aboriginal woman. Always either a cold case, or one that has been overlooked for some reason. |
Yep, we have been here before with 'The Dry' starring Eric Bana Saying that it was a pretty good movie with a great performance from Bana |
Solving a tribal murder is like solving a ghetto murder. Whats the point again? Exactly? LOL |
Nice to lk, and those motels built into the rock-face lked interesting Someplace you wouldn't mind checking out And according the the (pretty short, makes a nice change) end credits they are real Fascinating The movie sucks you in and you keep watching Gets nail-biting towards the very end as you wonder if there will be a resolution to the mystery... then on the way out of town and on the spur of the moment the detective makes a u-turn.... |
