i can agree with this the first one was not that good at all remake of crap well its not hard to figure out how this will be |
Who do you blame though? Is it the streaming services giving out a contract to every fresh film grad with a stoner script? Is it the audience on social media that is constantly asking for member berries ? Now we have a film industry with 10x more B rated films and we create a haystack for the good art to get lost in. |
Judging a whole group of people based on the colour of their skin, I am sure there is a word for that. I guess it does not apply here though, how surprising. |
Refusing to see the difference and abusing the situation to make a false call, THAT's what that word is being used for. |
The Ukrainian revolution included jumps on the square. This confirms the jumping ability of Europeoids. And anyway, how important is jumping anyway? Only a small number of people on our planet are paid to be jumpable. |
I'm surprised they ACTUALLY cast a white guy! The garbage remakes that are coming out nowadays just suck. |
considering how long they spent in europe yeah i think so ... |
Yeah, like Woody Harrelson was white… uh, wait… |
TGXKing. Jewish is a religion, not a color or actual race. |
@ Acr250rider There are many instances where they reject the idea that they are of the white race but they enjoy the benefits that whiteness brings them. Selective determination for some. |
@Acr250rider: I have friends who are Jewish, and they consider themselves a white race. |
Wow, again? The original was good! Can't ppl just go back and watch the original of it! The ratings are excellent, and what happened to just bringing a movie "BACK", instead of trying to remake it into something which will be much worse! This by default then sabotages people who never saw the original "classic" film, which heck, not sure this one is old enough to call classic nor is it's sequel, but bringing them back for this new generation or people that have never seen it at all, is a great idea! Why not try that instead of trying to "Jump thru some other hoops and losing money". This way you'll make more money with the original. This concept isn't rocket science and could be applied to so many movies that were re-made into trash. I will bite my tongue for the only movie/remake I can think of that was excellent and is on the same scale, and that is "A Star is Born". The remake was excellent, but the original for those of us who saw it, knows how wonderful it was for it's time! The new one though was terrific as well, and for the very few remake's ever done, that was the best ever, and by far, has the best rating as well. Just because we can make a movie with actors you recognize now, doesn't by any stretch mean they are better than actors of a previous generation. Think re-making a movie so that people can say "Oh, let's go see that, bc I know umpti bump, he's a great actor, is a "weak excuse"! That's like saying I'm not going to take History class in school....LOL. What? Huh? Maybe you'd like "Film Appreciation", if you tried it, especially if you never saw either movie. PS: I ran into a young kid who didn't know who Denzel or Bruce were? Of course it either makes ya' feel old, or makes you think "wow this kid missed "Die Hard", etc...and I could go on for about an hour with Denzel movies, but was just shaking my head!:) lol So why remake when they can see these awesome movies!:) Have a great weekend everyone, RT!:) |
Sometimes a remake is better than the original (especially when the original wasn't an original but a filming of a book); I'm not saying that this one is. A newer production, however, will look better in the eyes of contemporary youth, who have nothing with ancient ways of dressing, antique manners and language. |
Los blancos no la saben meter? Al parecer es un remake de una peli de 1994 Justo en estos días me estaba acordando de esa pelicula |
You think White Men Can't Jump then just look up Mac McClung & see him. I think White Men Can Jump Better |
I watched him win the NBA Dunk Contest. He was a Beast! 6 2 white dude beat down on the taller dark dudes. He embarrassed them. If they were 6 2 they would not be able to do what he does. Shows that if whites want to compete they can but we have to let the dark dudes have something they can do. |
Young people CANT ACT. Should be the name of it. YOUNG people cant DIRECT. Young people cant shoot a film. Pick one, pick three; they are all relevant here. Death to libbies. FJB. |
I'm not opposed to remakes if they're done right, but who the fuck are these dudes? lol. who the hell makes a cheap remake of a movie people like, and then cast nobody's to play the roles? it's baffling. |
There a lot of reasons why movies are being remade. First of all, it's a very common practice in the performing arts to give your own interpretation of material available. Musicians play the same music over and over, actors play the same parts over and over, ballet dancers play the same role over and over, conductors, directors, choreographers all give their personal interpretation of a score, a play, a script. It's a right and a duty for performers. In the movie industry the practice is less common, because the 'art' is only available in a recorded end result, unlike the others that can be enjoyed live and in pre-recorded form. Still, every scriptwriter and director jas the right to give his/her/their take on the available material. A new version often offers benefits that weren't available to the old one. Better SFX, better cameras, filming and editing techniques that weren't even invented when the ld one was filmed, a more modern tempo of story telling. Old versions look good to people who know the old version when it was young. They're used to the old clothes, settings, props, language, tempo, but all that is very often a bore to now young people. Even when the remake sucks (which this one might, I haven't seen it), that is still a plus for younger viewers. So please, don't always knock down remakes a priori. They may not be made for you to begin with. |
So, take a moderately-amusing film with real stars and remake it with absolute nobodies? I fail to see the sense in that, (unless someone just wants to watch the movie without having to put up with Rosie Perez and her squeaky, whiny voice). |
When I think about how such raw open dialogue between two real people wont be allowed in todays movies with the beta male snowflake crowd, I am moderately amused. Rosie Perez does almost crash the movie for some. I'll give you that. Welsey Snipes was always fun to watch. Hes got real charisma. Much more than moderate. |
