Thank you GalaxyRG for sharing! Love you to bits A/V is fine, but the movie itself is too dark in places for me to really see what was going on. The "inspired by actual events" tag always annoys me on these sorts of movies. "Inspired by?" In the same way that Aquaman was inspired by a kid that could hold their breath underwater for a really long time? As an atheist I just put that aside, like I put aside physics, biology, and any conceptions of "the real world" when I enjoy Superman movies. Having suspended belief, I'm sorry to say I still didn't much care for this movie... mediocre acting, low quality dialogue, an interesting story arc poorly executed. My recycle bin would be bulging if I didn't keep it empty. Thanks anyway GalaxyRG your efforts are much appreciated as ever |
@ Guest 3239.... By "changing it up" using your interpretation, the screen writer(s) would not be appealing to the majority of viewers who hold their truth as God's salvation, and good should prevail over evil.. There is a certain amount of truth in fiction or we would not be able to relate to the story whatever it is... |
"Inspired by actual events" is where it becomes just too ridiculous. Making movies based on Judeo/Christian/Muslim mythology is as valid as making movies based on comic books or Norse mythology but when you try to claim either is in any way based on reality you exceed my ability to temporarily suspend disbelief - which is necessary to enjoy ANY fiction. "Yeah, man, the Hulk - you know, that big green dude who got zapped by radiation and, whoa! - is based on a true story. My cousin's wife's mother's aunt's hairdresser knew the dude: her sister's friend used to date him." |
I agree with you, Guest-3486. They could at least change it up. ie. They find out that the spirits/demons that are attacking them is just a ploy to make them keep worshipping. Believing that their God saved them through their prayers/exorcism work, when in reality, it was that God the whole time attacking them. |
Well, a lot of people believe in that kind of stuff, so I guess it's real to them. The "actual events" might be just that: some nothing-burger of an event that was interpreted as supernatural by some people, and is portrayed as real on this fictional account of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
No one actually suspends belief to enjoy fiction. There's just something wrong with you. The rest of us just enjoy movies, full stop. |
Whoa, steady on. Some fella has the same hobby as his nephew's girlfriend. It could happen! |
John Jarrat from Wolf Creek??? .. I don't believe he would sanction an android phone.. At best watch the movie, at worst watch the trailer then comment.... |
Ain't gonna happen. You know it's not about the movie. |
I like dark movies that I can barely see. I will definitely be trying to watch this. Thank you so much for the up! As always, it's much appreciated. |
Yeah, I regularly re-watch that final big night-time battle in the last season of Game of Thrones with a flashlight pointed at the screen |
Only pulling 4.3 over on IMDB Gonna wait and see it if touches 5.0 (minimum rating to consider downloading ) |
To be fair, dark areas aren't grainy on the screenshots so it's more likely a case of someone being overzealous with their LUTs. Fun fact, devil worshipping in Australia is practically at the level of urban legend and every city has a story or two of powerful people meeting up to do the usual sacrificial fodder. |
