Meanwhile, the animation looks awful. Twenty years ago this might be acceptable, but the bar has been raised quite a bit since then. Am not going to punish my eyes on this, sorry. |
Dasterldly , one of the greatest christmas themed movies ever was also released in july back in 1988 , DIE HARD so its not the first time and wont be the last merry christmas in advance ( blame it on climate change if you wish) |
Die Hard is not "Christmas themed". It plays during a Christmas party, but Christmas is not a theme. |
This has the worst animation and voice acting I have ever seen. They sound monotone and completely melancholy... |
Though I'm an an American I do live in Australia and am familiar with the idea of "Christmas In July" just as much as Cinco De Mayo and Die Hard was NOT a "Christmas Themed" movie.....but i get it, it sneaks up on you, time flies you blink and 20 years have gone by..... |
I believe that as Christmas is predominantly displayed as a "Winter" time celebration (snow, roaring fireplaces, etc etc) which is why places like Australia do Christmas in July, as a small family gathering. In Perth (where I reside) The Christmas period temperatures are generally in the high 30's to mid 40's... that's Celcius / Centirgrade NOT Farenheight. In other words it's bloody hot. No one wants to heat up a house even more by roasting a turkey - Ham- etc etc, so that's why we have Christmas in July. Just trying to help :) |
Isn't religion fun? Celebrate whatever whenever it's convenient, as long as you have strong faith in the absoluteness of the impossible. |
already with the Christmas themed content.......its only July FFS! |
It *might* be 'only July' but it will SOON be Christmas Cable TV have now prefixed there channels with Christmas and the local Wallyworld is selling Xmas tat You can NEVER be too soon with Christmas - you have to get in there first - (or be last ) |
What have you never experienced Xmas in July ? it must be only an Australian thing. |
Someone is truly clueless since it sounds link you haven't heard of Christmas in July. Might want to know what your talking about before posting. Guest-1978 no it's not just Australia. |
Christmas in July is a millenia long tradition going back to Julius Caesar chasing Cleopatra. |
Must have been a different Caesar and Cleopatra than you're thinking of, because the earliest mention (not celebration) is in 1892. The first "celebration" reportedly took place in 1935. Your Caesar and Cleopatra were about 2000 years out of time already. |
I never heard of "Christmas in July" until my 40's. Now in my 60's still have never celebrated it, sorry commercial industry am out. My question is how are 2 kids that stow away on his sleigh not on the Naughty List? |
Isn't it amazing, the knowledge of the man with all the expertise? Of course he has to be corrected all the time, but that's the prize for being cocky. |
Not even remotely funny. You're a guest but still you get a penalty of minus 5 rep points. |
We all know you're not a "Guest." Just another member who's too chicken shit to make bigoted comments using their member username. Pathetic. |
