 | This is the movie that just last month caused controversy at the Cannes Film Festival while competing for the Grand Prize of the Palme d'Or. it received both a six-minute standing ovation and a walk out by several critics in the audience due its very weird and graphic content which includes sex scenes with full nudity, gore and violence, all with director David Cronenberg trademark style of filmmaking (The Fly, Dead Ringers, Crash, Naked Lunch, Videodrome, Scanners, Eastern Promises, A History Of Violence). | Thanks TGx for another excellent week of content, and one that doesn't fit my type, a "Sci-Fi", however, I'm sure when it comes down to be a non-CAM release you'll have thousands D/L this movie, bc they don't like the watermark, the few ads, or think the movie is like the old CAM's, or they have the right to wait for a better copy, and some know when it's coming too! :) This movie we were able to get some excellent background info and trailers from @Jaxe who always provides excellent comments and feedback! I watched the YouTube video, which helped me realize it was an easy pass for me, yet for others who enjoy the genre, they will certainly flourish! No matter what we can be assured the Torrent will be A/V=10/10 and even for the CAM/TS the quality will be awesome! A/V=10/10...5 stars. M= will not watch to rate, as not my type, but do hope others enjoy! :) One thing - for any guests that call out any members or vice versa as a "racist", or any type of criticism, I've never seen this in a movie review, and you're playing with fire if you accuse someone of doing it, anyway, so please refrain from making "negative" comments about our other members/guests, unless they are good one's! Constructive criticism is one thing, but if you have something to say to me, about something I said to you, please send me a PM, so I'm aware, as I can assure you, I would never intentionally try to hurt someone outright, and I think most of our members and guests feel the same way, despite messing around with the up/down voting system! Think if we all get along the & there is no dissension on the site, they can't turn it into WWE on TGx, bc as we try for autonomy,tha bet everything is regulated! So, why make it worse? | The trailer looks really well done @Jaxe, but I'm not a "Sci-Fi" fan, so it's hard for me to get in to these type of movies tbh. I'm sure to others it looks terrific, & I sure don't want to rain on anyone's parade, if ppl do want to see it! Some of the acting does seem over-dramatic,& characters look "creepy", "Yuk"!:) |

| I'm a huge David Cronenberg fan I liked Eastern Promises and History of Violence, The Fly, Dead Ringers and Crash. Not so much the others. No doubt Cronenberg has a unique vision and style. Viggo Mortensen is always compelling and probably one of the most under rated actors working. But even I have reservations about this one, kind of like trying not to watch an accident scene.....i'll watch it, when a better copy is available, probably with one eye closed peeking through fingers... thanks for your commentary jaxe! |
