Hey Guest-2401, Fuck your opinion on Steven Spielberg lol. Be patient. There will be English subs and probably better to wait for a HQ version of this masterpiece after all. Have a nice day :-) |
Disrespectful to whom, jaxe? To Spanish speaking people it makes no difference whether it's translated, but they might have a problem with the English speaking parts, which -no doubt- will get translated in their theatres. If anything at all, it is disrespectful to non-Spanish speaking people, but hey, that's Spielberg for you. |
Fuck Steven Spielberg's opinion on this. It's disrespectful and condescending to not include English translation because it's disrespectful to some fictional characters. |
Well the story is about kids from 2 different gangs in NYC, one gang is from Puerto Rico and the other is White. So it is natural the Puerto Rican gang would be speaking Spanish. One of the White kids falls in love with one of the girl from the Puerto Rican gang. It is based on Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet story. |
Be aware that the Spanish dialogue scenes do not have English subtitles. That's the way director Steven Spielberg filmed the movie and he chose to not include English translation for those scenes. He said it would be disrespectful to do so. |
@Guest 2240, I am just the messenger, passing on what Spielberg said about why he didn't include English Subtitles for the Theatrical release |
Hay bendito, who cares, Im puertorican, born and raised there, here in the mainland since 1984, never seen this movie (original one) or heard of it till now. Lets see what the fuss is all about. |
