Marvellous film. Timothy Spall is magnificent. Probably won't satisfy die-hard Romance/Sci-Fi/Horror/Porn/Fantasy/Action/Spy/Sport film fans 🐶 |
Firstly I can't believe I agree with a guest (ha ha) but Guest-3345 your comments are 100% correct and this movie is very nice. User Reaper you must have watched this movie on a low quality monitor/TV to be Audio 8 Video 8 only or have consumed some kind of Anti-Nootropic. I watched this last night in 720p and the quality is 10/10. May I add and I certainly will, if one is going to critique a movie then it should be done truthfully at the very least. As what was stated by Guest-3345 "this film was heartwarming, emotional and showed the determination of a dying british man keeping a promise" and was greatly enjoyed by myself and... no I'm not British if you wish to know. Then we have ReadThis, yes the movie was a slow paced drama but I think you are confusing drama with action when you make a statement such as "so if you think any movies get a bit slow from a drama perspective, this would definitely not be worth a watch". For the sake of Christ the dear old guy travelled 837 miles on buses with his wife's ashes, yes it was slow, that was the whole point of the movie. You gave your opinion and I gave mine, I'm right and your wrong... let's leave it at that! I'm sure like myself and Guest-3345 there will be others who will view this movie and scatch their heads at the shite comments some users have given. Thank you GalaxyRG for the share, nice one at that! |
WOW..Not sure any of you got this right.@Reaper never said [in my reading] He/She didn't like the Movie He/She stated it Wasn't His/Her kind of Movie, and as for the reference to The Straight Story the similarity in the story line is there [because i have watched both] and this is Not as good, and as for [Now at Least I Know what I Wouldn't have Missed] still only points to His/Her's point of view, nothing there says Watch this or Not like most of His/Her's reviews normally state and @ReadThis gave this a 5 star 10/10 it's not, this is a 720p.WEBRip that on a good day is a 4 Star 8/8.So nice one @Reaper you stirred up a heated discussion without stating nothing about this movie other than you didn't like it |
You 2 have no idea what you're talking about, this film was fantastic never mind your usa shite this film was heartwarming emotional and showed the determination of a dieing british man keeping a promise. |
Thank you GalaxyRG Nice Share.. Audio 8 Video 8 I'm a Fan of British Flicks-Timothy Spall Not so much Public Transit so I Thought this Might be my Kinda Movie. It's Not. This is Sort of like The Straight Story but this Nonagenarian Rides a Series of Regional Buses.. Instead of a Lawn Mower & the Director Certainly Isn't David Lynch.. If I Hadn't Watched It I'd Continue to be Curious about It.. Now at Least I Know what I Wouldn't have Missed.. I was Hoping for a Way Better than This.. |
This is a British movie, so its not going to be understandable to many Americans. For me, its a 10 out of 10, and well worth the watch. |
@R3Dundant - your right my friend, and I'm wrong! Truth be told, hope you feel better! ;) I will give you +5 in a review to come after writing this to hope and make you feel better, bc I'm apparently to ignorant to determine what a "slow" movie is, even if it's my own opinion, just like @Reaper has his his own review, which I 100% admire and respect his opinion/review as well as yours and everyone's review here as well! :) I didn't view this as a competition so if I offended you, my sincerest apologies! There's really no point at poking holes at what I think is slow vs. what you do? It's a review not an "ego" contest that you feel you must say something to belittle my original assessment. Why not just formulate what you thought of the movie, and if you don't have anything positive to say regarding others(my) reviews, then send them a PM about it, don't say anything at all(in here), and go on to the NEXT Movie or show. I don't have any ill feelings toward you or anyone, and always appreciate the hard work that TGx does for us, and the excellent feedback and reviews that come from our guests and members, as long as they don't attack others giving "negative" feedback while stating their harsh opinion(s) via their "review". Appreciate your understanding even if you don't at this time, while just thinking to myself,,"can't we all be friends!" ;) Thanks @R3 and have a Spectacular Sunday! Thank you, Kindly...RT!:) ;) |
Thanks for the review Reaper When I saw the names Timothy Spall and Phyliis Logan I thought, 'this has to be at least watchable and maybe really good', but aw well... |
For the love of god just watch the damn movie and stop being so cynical. |
So, how many times do I have to say that reviews mean squat? We all have different tastes, thankfully, so why do you think one persons opinion on the movie means anything to your opinion? For crying out loud, form your own opinion, based on what you like — you do that with everything else. Download the movie, watch it and if it isn't to your liking: toss it. How much does it hurt? |
Guest 8280 you got the whole thing wrong as I have no ill feeling nor do I have any issue with you're precious Reaper but was merely pointing out to ReadThis that what Reaper gave us was not a review but a personal comment so why are you fighting so hard to defend ones honour when it is really irrelevant. The original point of my post was to point out some flaws in the post ReadThis made and yes I may have gone off track a little (way off track maybe) but that’s me, it’s how I roll. Apologies to all (for now at least) but Guest 8280 I for one sure got it right, you blindly and simply overlooked my evaluation of the entire matter at hand. And while I’m at it I personally would never post as a Guest-User to express my dislike, disbelief or to attack or even defend ones actions. I stand by my words and my intensions are/were not to upset or discredit anyone but to simply point out what I review or determine as incorrect but the whole thing blew out of context and started what I deem to be the best darn conversing I could of imagined. Thanks for participating in my new forum page and do keep in touch as this was so much fun, informative and educational. OK people, don't take this to heart... it's been a nice chat I shouldn't have started (I admit to it) but by the light that shines down upon my flesh I'm glad I did 'cause we got to know each other a little more and that's a good thing is it not? Be kind to one another and remember... Oh now I forgot where I was going with this! |
TGx user ReadThis why are you taking this personally, I was merely pointing out the fact that your summary did not make too much sense to me and as for you being “too ignorant”, well you now appear to be paranoid as I never mentioned nor suggested such a thing, so that one is on you my friend. I did in no way intend to come across sounding rude or nasty or the likes but I was only explaining to you that the movie was obviously directed to be at a slow pace due to the part of the actor being of age, of ill health and the fact he was travelling a long, long distance to achieve his goal. And the part about “I think this is not a drama that you would find that is typical from the one's that we have in the US” again does not make any sense as this movie was filmed, produced and made in the United Kingdom with no comparison or connection to the US at all. Also you state “just like @Reaper has his own review, which I 100% admire and respect his opinion/review” even though Reaper only gave the “Audio 8 Video 8” and you gave “A/V=10/10” which my calculation comes to, let's see... oh yeah 80% and not quiet the 100% you stated (another strike). Please listen and I'll explain to you, Reaper totally got this one wrong and let me tell you why… 1. “Public Transit so I Thought this Might be my Kinda Movie, It’s Not”, don’t know why, the buses were really awesome. 2. To say “This is sort of like The Straight Story but it’s not because this elderly gent rides a series of regional buses instead of a lawn mower” well that sure makes for a lot of sense and doesn’t sound sort of like that other movie at all. 3. “The Director certainly isn’t David Lynch”, well he got that one correct as the Director is Gillies MacKinnon and you sir call that a review. I too read and enjoy reviews from Reaper but saying I 100% admire and respect his opinion/review would be taking things to another level of worship and a place I think I will avoid dear chap. I fully accept your criticism toward my comment but am confused as to the +5 Review you gave me, was this to shame me into feeling some kind of guilt or remorse or maybe just a slap in the face for me or you genuinely think my review is worthy of such reward. Thanks ReadThis and you have a Spectacular Sunday as I will! Kind Regards R3DunANT |
