Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) is a 'mechanic' - an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. Professione assassino, film diretto da Simon West, è la storia di Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) che come lavoro fa il "meccanico": è un assassino scelto, con un codice molto severo ed un talento unico nell'eliminare in modo impeccabile ogni sua vittima. Il suo è un lavoro che richiede la massima perfezione oltre che un distacco totale e Bishop è il migliore nel suo campo. Ma quando il suo grande amico e mentore Harry (Donald Sutherland) viene assassinato, Bishop non può fare a meno di lasciarsi coinvolgere a livello personale. E così stavolta sarà lui a scegliere il suo successivo incarico: trovare i responsabili della morte del suo amico. La missione si fa più complicata quando Steve (Ben Foster), il figlio di Harry, gli rivela l'intenzione di vendicare da solo la morte del padre. Bishop ha sempre agito da solo, ma questa volta non può certo voltare le spalle al figlio di Harry.
