Had read the book a couple of years ago, and it was EXCELLENT!! Dramatic, mystery, well written, suspenseful. 'dem Aussies write well!! Lookin' forward to da movie! Respect to Down Under from We the North!. |
I wasn't gonna download this one, but your comments made me laugh. So this act of piracy is all your fault! |
Wow, although an Australian movie, it is a really good murder/mystery movie that will keep you guessing until the end. The beginning character development is a bit slow but it all starts to add up towards the end with all the twists and turns thrown at you. Eric Bana is the most notable person but the other actors do a great job in this film. Highly recommend to those who like the mysteries within mysteries types of movies that keep you guessing until the end. Very impressed with this movie, definitely worth the download and time to watch it. 9/10 A/V/C - I'd recommend to everyone! |
@Guest-1561 Yeah, well, I like Nicolas Cage but hate his movies |
But unlike butt holes, everyone is entitled to have and express an opinion. |
I don't know what some people's beef is with Eric Bana - I have never heard of the guy - but I enjoyed his performance in this. I couldn't really fault his performance. I was almost going to turn off at the very beginning as there was one of those funeral scenes. I don't know what it is with funeral scenes but I think they are pretty hard to act in a believable way without giving yourself some sort of mental trauma or existential crisis. I am sure that that guy who turns up at everyone funeral scene , at least in every episode of Inspector Montelbana was on the audio track - maybe his fee for a personal appearance was too high Eric Bana knows how to act grieved as we found out later. Anyway, moving on, it quickly hooks you in. Basically you have two murder? mysteries to solve - one in the recent past and one in the distant past. Guessing who did or didn't do what is not that easy. I thought I had solved it, or at least nailed what happened in the most recent case at around the hour mark but got it wrong. I am tempted to drop a big clue but don't want to spoil it The case in the far off past has that Peter Weir's 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' feel to it, at least it is filmed that way. Incidentally, one of my favourite quotes is from 'Picnic at Hanging Rock': 'Everything begins and ends at exactly the right time and place.' This also reminded me of an another Ozzie film especially at the beginning when the caption said that it hadn't rained for 342 days. It was like I have seem this before. But then thought, that's not possible it has only just been released. Maybe I have in some other universe If you enjoy mystery murder? thrillers especially ones set in Oz you can't go far wrong with this |
Lambestaca123 thank you. I would never have seen that other people have opinions and butt holes by myself. |
@ Guest-1595 Cool story, bro Maybe next time the director could step up to the plate and edit an hour out of your comment |
Great copy thanks. IMO the movie is painfully slow with small story. Photography is great. Dry backdrops spectacular and full of import. Director could have stepped it up a bit and also cut 30 mins out of it. Acting is obvious. Stopped caring an hour in. |
I really dislike Erick Bana, but I like a lot of his movies. |
