The group was formed in 1967 in Vienna. Drummer Erwin Novak was the initiator of the creation. In its first decade, only two singles were released: “Hypodermic Needle / Doing That Rhythm Thing” (1968) and “Not Enough Poison / Smile Please” (1969), and the first mini-longplay was released only in 1977, it was a recording of “live ”Group performances. After him in 1978 the first program work was recorded - the album "Naked". A year later, the third and last disc was released - the EP "Brennmaterial für die 80er Jahre", after which the group disbanded in 1980. “Novaks Kapelle” were one of the wildest, scandalous and inventive bands in Austria ... As for the shocking album cover, strange as it may seem, the mothers of the members of “Novaks Kapelle” are depicted on it. The fact that they agreed to pose in the nude is amazing. Of course, the cover was instantly censored in Austria, so when the scandalous album was reissued on CD in 2010, the cover was changed to another one (orange background with the words “Achtung! Novaks Kapelle Naked”).
