Summary

Captured live from the National Theatre, Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo play Shakespeare’s famous fated couple in his great tragedy of politics, passion and power.

Caesar and his assassins are dead. General Mark Antony now rules alongside his fellow defenders of Rome. But at the fringes of a war-torn empire the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Mark Antony have fallen fiercely in love. In a tragic fight between devotion and duty, obsession becomes a catalyst for war.

My notes

 I had to look up Thidius the messenger.  He always seems to get a raw deal in this
play.  Antony and Cleopatra has been done many times and in many ways.  It is a crowd favorite.  In this recode I was able to add subtitles from a browser add-in which I found quite a convenience to use and thank the developer for it.  It works in several of the most used browsers on the major streaming site. In the days of the worldwide pandemic these fundraiser productions should be supported any way you can.  The torrent version is given as I've done many times in this archive for a more permanent place to view them and by those who may not have access to the movie theatres in which they have been shown.
