| I call Best Buy to check for stock. Website shows 3 in stock at that store but I want to make sure before I drive 40 minutes to it. You get the first menu asking if you are calling about your Best Buy account and other things, then you press 0 to speak with someone, and then you have to go through another menu to get you to the right person, tell me what you are calling about (computer, appliances, geek squad, installation, etc). By the time you gone through all those to finally get a choice of what you are calling about, you already spent 3-4 minutes on the phone pressing buttons or talking into the phone and dealing with the automated system: Sorry I didn't understand you, where you asking for? YES OR NO. My mistake, let's try again, In a few words tell me what you are calling about so I may get you to the right Best Buy specialist. No matter what choice you press, and I know because I called back 8 times, it always connects to a busy signal and then after a minute you get disconnected. So I call another Best Buy store, same thing after going through all the menu, busy. Call another store, go through all the menu, busy. Then I call their national customer service #, you get the same menu and then it tells you we are getting a representative, and BUSY and Disconnect. Call their corporate #, it goes to customer service and then the menu and again , don't matter what choice you pick and I even PICKED BEST BUY CREDIT CARD , connects to BUSY and Disconnects. Then I GOOGLE BEST BUY don't answer the phone and found dozens of results to 2019 people complaining about the same thing: can't get no one at Best Buy to answer the phone, not even for things like checking the status of a Geek Squad repair or calling about having home theater installed or your Best Buy rewards account. | There's not many places left to buy things like washer and dryer, refrigerator, stoves/oven without buying online. I would never buy electronics or appliances or furniture online from sites like Amazon. If it's broken, defective, when it arrives, how are you going to return it? Sears is gone. Fry's Electronics is gone. Other 2 retail places are Lowe's and Home Depot. 5 years ago we were buying a new refrigerator. Saw one online at Home Depot but they didn't have it in stock at the 2 stores near us, said we had to wait at least 1-2 weeks for them to get one in. Then we saw the same one at Lowe's at the store 2 miles from us, several in stock, but at a higher price than Home Depot. We went to Lowe's and ask them about their price match guarantee and free delivery and free installation that is listed on their website on ALL appliances. The sales person said yes, we will give you the lowest price Home Depot is selling and we will deliver for free and we will install it for free and take your old refrigerator away for free. Okay, we paid, scheduled a date for delivery, all done. Day before delivery we get a call from Lowe's saying because they price match the lower Home Depot price, delivery and installation and hauling the old refrigerator away for free are no longer free and I needed to go in and pay more $ before they can honor our agreed delivery date. I went to the store and demanded to speak with the store manager. I even show him on their website. Nowhere on it it says price matching voids everything else out. Told him that's deceptive trade and practices, dishonest and I also show him the complaints I filed with the BBB and the Attorney General Consumer Protection department. Made him deliver and install the refrigerator and take the old refrigerator away for free as previously agreed and he also took another 20% off. Then at Home Depot a couple of years later, buying a new washer and dryer, comes with free installation and haul away, the delivery people brought them, took them off their truck and just left it outside the front door of our home, both washer and dryer in the box, and they left. The 2 delivery people told us installation and haul away are not included and on the delivery invoice they don't see that we paid for installation and haul away. I told them they were wrong but they kept insisting, you want it install, call the store, pay for it, and we come back out and install it and take the old appliances away. I call the store and the manager said they are suppose to bring them into the house, uninstall the old washer and dryer, install the new washer and dryer, take the old washer and dryer away, said the 2 delivery guys were full of shit and he doesn't understand why they did that. So because we were inconvenienced, he gave us a $200 gift card. PEOPLE ARE JUST LAZY NOWADAYS! They go to work because they need to eat and pay rent but they don't want to put in a honest day work and will try as hard as possible to do as little as possible. | |

| So we went to Best Buy and walked in straight to appliance department. We didn't see the washer dryer set we were looking for but the Best Buy website showed 3 in stock for this store. There was a girl back there wearing Best Buy uniform. We ask her if she work that department. She said yes. We asked her about the Washer and Dryer (show her the Best Buy website on my phone ). Also told her we tried calling to make sure it's in stock before we go to the store and she said we don't have phones anymore whatever that means because when you call the phone # for any Best Buy store, it still connects to the automated system and it will say welcome to Best Buy (store location and #), press 1 for store hours, press 2 for address and direction, press 3 etc.... She wouldn't even look it up on the computer. She said we need to go to the front, there was a counter at the entrance with a computer and a sign over head that read shopper host or something. We need to tell him what we are looking for and he will look it up and then do whatever is it that he does. So we go back to the front and there was 6 people in line for that shopper host counter and only one employee manning it and he was helping an old man. He was trying to get rid of the 6 people in line ahead of us by calling out at them if you want cell phone activation, you need to go to another counter. Those 6 people kept telling him none of them are there for cell phones. Then we saw him hand the old man a print out and told him he need to go to another counter on the side of the store that said customer service merchandise and from there to another counter that said checkout. There were more customers in line at both counters. We look around we saw at least 6 employees just walking around doing nothing. What are they there for? Fuck it. We left. I haven't been in a Best Buy in forever. 10 years maybe. When did they become so bullshit. I remember we walk into a Best Buy, go to any department, if we can't find something that is advertised, we ask anyone, they will happily help you find it and then you just go straight to the cashier. Didn't have to go through all those steps. | |

| Also they don't have cashier registers anymore like you see at the other stores, multiple numbered lanes with conveyor belts and each lane is one cash register. The checkout counter I mentioned was just one counter with one computer which I presume has a cash drawer underneath it. Imagine wanting to buy something around the coming holidays when everyone is shopping with that one computer, one cash drawer and especially on Black Friday or the last few days before Christmas. How is Best Buy still open? They should be out of business with this new business model of totally neglecting their customers and providing zero customer service. | |
