| Dark Matter - S01E03 : So, I had a lot of resistance watching this, kept putting it off. When I decide to watch Star Trek Discovery over something, that's a bad sign. That said - I enjoyed this episode...it was more of what I was expecting from the start. The show is on thin ice, for me...I thought it was going to be a bit more cerebral but won't evacuate just yet.  Spoiler - Dark MatterPretty Little Liars (new) S01-S02E01-04 : Teenage Slasher Lite...a bit railroady to begin with - anyone can blame anyone of anything and be believed with zero evidence...however that's very much a first episode setup thing, not a spoiler really. Overall I thought it was fun, watchable and doesn't have pretensions. There are complaints that it's too woke - I am quite sensitive to such things, but personally didn't find it preachy apart from a few situations in which it seemed deserved. Spoiler - Pretty Little Liars S01Star Trek Discovery S05E09 - Just enough sci-fi to keep me interested. Last episode next week, at least I stuck it to the end...which is something that hasn't happened for a while with this show. Spoiler - Star Trek DiscoveryInterview With The Vampire S02E02 - Good. Don't like the new Claudia. Spoiler - Interview With The VampireAtlas - yeah, fun. Won't win any awards but is a very watchable sci-fi story, if that's your bag. | Tarot: I'm sure we've all seen 1000 variations of the same "teenagers get picked off" horror film. This one doesn't do anything different...however, I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing...it's reasonably put together, so if you have 90 minutes on a slow afternoon, why not. Spoiler - Dark MatterInterview with the Vampire S02E03 - Enjoying the season and this episode had elements that I particularly enjoyed...still don't like what they've done with Claudia. Spoiler - Interview with the VampireStranger Things S04 - Rewatched, still great. Queen of the Damned - Seemed like a good time to rewatch, really enjoyed. I'm one of those nerds that goes online and reads up on all of the characters and backstory...this was no exception. I read the first book years ago but found the writing style too dull to continue...the werewolf books are good though and have a much fresher, cleaner style. | |

| Interview with the Vampire S02E04 - Still enjoying, nothing much to say... Star Trek: Discovery S05E10 - I enjoyed finally getting to see the technology they were chasing...I find the idea very compelling and it was this, mostly, that kept me watching. Despite my generally low opinion of many of the seasons, I still found the finale touching...though some of the final scenes outstayed their welcome. It's just a shame they didn't find a way to kill any of the characters I dislike. | |

| The Acolyte S01E01-E02: Pretty bad writing, not overtly woke though that I could see. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan - though I am very interested in certain parts of the lore (the force, jedi & sith). Re: the writing - there are a lot of weird details that are there to further the plot but which erode credibility...it makes it seem as if not much thought has been put into things...I haven't seen something this half-cooked in quite a while. The Strangers Chapter 1: I accidentally applied a nicotine patch that was far too strong for me, so the first half of this film was a very, very anxious experience...overall though it was very average and something we've seen 1000 times already. Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker: Rewatched this...pretty fun. | |
