I love the Bose speakers as well as the Martin Logan’s. I have the same setup in my theater room also.

sure been using Bose a long time good sound at a good price never had any trouble:-)

I'm of the thinking... sometimes old school is better. I don't know if the ipod classic is up there with the 'new school' nowadays, but it suits my needs.... ok you may need to replace the battery every couple of years but I'd imagine the new pods/mp3 players etc will be the same if not worse..
downside with replacing battery is I lose everything on it's hdd ,so everything has to be put back on it. Time consuming.

One thing I have noticed is that of all the "full over the ear" cans I have used over the past 40 years these are the best at blocking out outside sound.
It is also great that the mike is totally detachable and that they switch off when you remove them.

When (and if) you do decide to upgrade, or switch your mobile music collection over to a cellphone, for example, you could try storing your tracks on a microSD card. What I like about the microSD cards is that they are small, fairly cheap and can easily be switched in and out of whatever device you're using at the moment. For me a phone is for calls and texts (I'm old :-) ) I will always use a dedicated music player for my music and I'll keep using the old classic until it gives up, then probably pick up a refurbished one.
