| Hi All Emails this morning told me the HDD holding my slot had gone faulty, so I was given a new slot. To lessen problems caused by trying to transfer old (and maybe damaged data) to new slot, I am starting over with the new slot. Just goes to show technology is not bulletproof. Stay happy, Wayne | |

| Comment noted. I don't think the words "good" and "deal" are used in the same sentence any more. Anyhows, the new "setup" seems faster than before. Good luck to all Wayne | |

| This did happen to me about 2 years ago, just like your PC at home hard drives can fail, I hope you manage to recover the situation quickly. :) | |

| you must be very unlucky indeed as I never had a problem like this with Feral and my 2 seedboxes. Mike and Joshua normally can fix most things. | |

| Disks can fail, thats life. Ive used feral for a while now, and their transfer system works just fine. I've moved slots a couple of times ok, not really much hassle, the biggest "issue" as such is the time it takes the client to re-verify all the files when you start them up again - I just did them in batches. | |

| Hello All Feral have offered to move my existing files to a new slot, but any corrupted/damaged files will also go across. I don't think this is the best option. I will not transfer any files, and hope there are enough seeded files out there to cover this problem. I guess the hard drives at Feral cop a lot more wear than our domestic ones, so could happen again. Thanks to all for your input Take care, Wayne | |

| I think I would have had them transfer the files and then just deleted the corrupted ones myself. but your choice | |

| Hi Deep61 True true, but of the 2,000+ files I have uploaded how would I know which ones are corrupted?? I think I should just bite the bullet and start over. Feral will delete my old slot in 3 days, so another prob. Thanks for input | |

| well once you had them copied you could use a GUI to your torrent software and just delete the bad ones,it would take less than 5 minutes | |

| Just start them (in batches), any that are "corrupted" would fail the verification recheck. | |

| Hi The files are on Feral's server hard drive, which had failed (not on my PC). I would not know how to get to the HDD at Feral - if I could get in I probably would be arrested. Last I knew Feral were doing a transfer, so see what happens. Cheers to All Wayne | |

| They mean the feral HDD I have had dealings with Joshua on many ocassions over the years (he even fixed a problem I had on Christmas day a few years back) I do not know how you access your slot at feral but I use "Filezilla" to do work on my slots at Feral. In my opinion I would have let them transfer the "data" to your new slot as I suggested then checked it with a GUI of your torrent client that you use at Feral. All these steps are covered very clearly in the support section of your page at feral with click on links on how to add stuuf and use it. | |

| Hi Deep61 First I knew of Filezilla. Your suggestions sound great, but I prefer to turn the key and it starts. I've tried doing stuff before like you suggest but I have trouble getting my Windows 7 to talk to Feral's software - sorta Linux based. Anyhow, all working now and thanks for your input. PS I will probably stop putting torrents up after a couple more weeks. Wayne | |

| Yes they are taking about their HDD. They are not suggesting you try to physically access it (I think they are in Amsterdam btw !). They are asking if you want them to try transferring your data (and also suggesting to keep backups if required). All that is done online. B) | |
