Hello everyone,
I'm using windows 10 and have a limited internet package. Every month, it gets consumed way too early and I feel that it's not really my usage. I've contacted my service provider and upped the security on the wi-fi.
I've looked online for apps, but they're not free and/or don't do the job advertised.
I've downloaded web balancer app, it shows the usage and promises to stop any high-using apps, but it really doesn't.
The only app that is connected and uses a bit of traffic is uTorrent. But, I've minimized its bandwidth.
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks

That's true. My service provider did mention that YouTube (and videos on Facebook) consume a lot. Especially the ones with fixed higher quality; the ones we cannot lower their resolution.

Hello again,
I've downloaded Glass Wire app and it showed that something called Host Process for Windows Services (a component of windows, I've checked) is basically guzzling the internet package. In less that 3 hours, it gulped 1.2 GBs :-(
I've looked online on how to disable it. But they mention that you can't, otherwise it might do damage to the operating system itself.
I'm really disappointed, but at least now I know.

something not right than, i verified in my same Windows 10, Task Manager all Host services, they all together use very little
so the question, what Windows 10 you have, pirated or genuine?
mine it's genuine Pro and no over usage on windows processes/components

Have a read of this ;

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-networking/host-process-for-windows-service-consuming-data/580b18f8-264c-431f-baba-9f6d5af77c14

Its written for Windows 8, but the same applies to Windows 10.

My windows version is a copy from a friend; I can't afford a genuine one unfortunately. But, I've had it for more than 2 years. This problem is just a few months old.

I've checked it out; many people have the same problem as me. I'm trying one of their solutions: disabling BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service). I'll see what happens today by monitoring GlassWire and will let you know.

ok win 10 in task manager :)  it shows you some of what your after ....
it shows what apps are using what power and how much,,,  it also shows you what is using your net and how much its taking  .....
now in regards to data thats a bit more complicated...  its complex as data is not measured the same way.. you may have a 50 meg connection but your speed and data transfer rates differ from that being megabytes and megabits we say bytes transfer rates go in bits  ....
should read a lil on data conversion and mapping sizes ...
there idea of 20gigs of data is not in reality 20 gigs of data ... ;)

kinda like a 2x4 is no longer a 2x4 but a 1-1/2 x 3 they play with this crap to confuse you and rip you off ...

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/monitor-your-data-usage-in-windows-10/
might want to read that one ...
and check a program called glasswire .... you can find the pro version on a lot of sites fixed :)

I'm using Glasswire free version, which is the reason that I know that a lot of my internet package is wasted.
This morning, I found out that the Widows Update is continually failing and restarting the update. It describes the new version that "I should be on" right now and it keeps failing to install because the "PC is turned off".
In less that 2 hours, 4.5 GBs are gone :(

As for that, if you know a trusted uploader, please tell me. From past (sad) experience, I've become really hesitant when it comes to downloading cracked apps.

If you set your connection to metered windows won't download updates.

All TGx uploaders are trusted. Glasswire can be found be HERE

The previous version of windows 10 didn't allow for an Ethernet to be metered, but this one does. I guess there's a silver lining after all.
I've changed it and will continue to monitor. Also I'll download the Glasswire elite from here: https://torrentgalaxy.to/torrent/206897/GlassWire-Elite-2-1-158-Full-Version--Crack---Cracks4Win-

Thanks
