| Many of the newer movies have some Asian subtitles on them (no idea if Chinese or not). Historically I don't remember having much trouble getting a movie without them. | |

| Most are ripped from korean ppv as they got the realease before the rest of us and why they have the hard coded subs. | |

| I don't mind the Korean hc subs. What I do mind is the encoder putting their hc English subs over-top the Korean hc subs with no way of turning them off. | |

| And it's an indicator for the ones without HC subs. Often about 2 or 3 weeks they come out with the normal ones, softcoded etc. | |

| Of course I then check again and see https://torrentgalaxy.org/torrent/88378/Mortal-Engines--2018--English-Proper-1080p-HDRip-x264-AC3-5-1-ESub--MOVCR- which at least at the 2 minute mark does not have them. 1 done, more to go. Other than the ones that say "BLURRED" and have blurred out the subtitles (or one of the screenshots show the subs), is there any way to know which ones have subs vs don't? | |

| If you see HC anywhere in the title you will find hard coded subs. The only other way to know is if someone puts it in the comment section. I usually make a comment about TS, HC, webrips in the comment section. I didn't do it for Robin Hood and that's because as soon as I seeded to 1:1 I deleted it. I didn't mind the hc subs but the encoder, Tiger put his own hard coded sub in there and there was no way to turn it off. I do appreciate the effort that goes into bringing us these torrents so part of my feels like a bit of an ass for complaining. The other part of me is like, come on, at least give me the option of shutting off the encoder's subs. | |

| TS? And so it all comes down to whoever made it to have been descriptive in their title/description (or someone to have made a comment) then. But I do see many of the ones do have HC in their titles that I had downloaded. I do appreciate their work, and after I get all my stuff completely setup will be contributing too (mostly with TV). So not complaining about the free access to still in theaters movies, just wish there was a flag to filter with (like SD/HD and the others). | |

| TS = Telesync Wiki has a page called "Pirated movie release types" Check it out. It's pretty concise. Yes, most uploaders will have it in their titles. Filters would be great but for now, we have to rely on other pirates to give us a heads up as to what each torrent holds, such is the life of a pirate, lol. :P | |

| "To Hardcode, or not to Hardcode, that is the question" to quote shakespeare (if he encoded stuff):P The "HC KOREAN SUBS" are due to the release coming from asia, Downside is, there are korean subs throughout the movie which cannot be turned off as they are encoded into the movie file. Upside is, BECAUSE its Korean and has subs throughout, the audio is english and very clear (dvd quality audio) Think about this, If the audio was Korean, then there would be no subs, but encoders would have to use the English CAMERA audio from previous releases, which means a nice picture but garbage audio. I think we get a good deal as the subs arnt in english so you hardly notice them after a short while, yes they can be annoying to some, so some encoders release BLURRED uploads (the text is blurred out) or CROPPED uploads (the part of the screen with the text on is cropped from the picture) which means you lose some screen size. English hardcoded subs are a different matter as you cant help but keep checking what they say, if your english speaking, so you end up watching text instead of the movie. Unless these are needed for movies with non english dialogue then they are just a distraction. Im not too picky myself, anything watchable, with audio so i can make out whats going on, im more than happy with. Respect to all cammers, encoders, uploaders, blurrers, croppers, copper toppers and Korean subtitle writers:love:love PS, the uploaders who deliberately mislabel their uploads to mislead downloaders and get hits i hate, but thanks for trying.:o) | |
