| Ok, I'm seeding a torrent (52gb) via Deluge (Feral seedbox) and it currently has 12 Torrentstorm clients connected, all of which are moving in the low kb/s and never seem to make it past 5% completion before they stop and just sit there. I've seen them on other larger torrents I seeded before, but very rarely smaller ones. From what I gather this client was discontinued many years ago. I've read reports of these being anything from clients that can fake the user agent of another client to anti-piracy groups gathering ip's. They don't slow other leechers/peers down and I can't block them as Ferals Deluge client doesn't allow you to do so. They don't bother me being there, I'm just wondering if anyone has any more info on what's going on with these clients. Thanks for any info given | |

| I often see these as well, usually from multiple locations. I have never managed to figure out what they are. I dont actually know any client that can block specific clients. I have found that forcing encryption foils them, as whatever they are - they are never encrypted connections. Last edited by battlestar on 2022-11-30 16:35:06 | |

| I understand what you're saying battlestar, but if I force encryption would that not mean that any legit client/user that isn't using forced would not be able to connect to me.

| No - only clients that cannot use encryption at all would be blocked. Pretty much any client in the last 10 or more years can use encryption. The default for most is "prefer", which means they will use encryption if its available. So the only clients you could not connect to are those that cannot use encryption at all [or have disabled it]. | |

| Update: Forced seems to have worked, no 0.0.0.8'ers to be seen | |
