Found An old review of torrentstorm from 2005:

Quote:

TorrentStorm

Homepage: ----------------------.com

This is the client that I have been using for a long time, and as such have the most experience with. All in all, it is easy to use and works well, but it has a few issues as well:

Development and distribution has been discontinued since March 2005.
It takes a long time to start when it has many torrents loaded, and adding a torrent takes a long time as well.
It crashes sometimes when trying to minimise it.
Sometimes ‘pygrab’ crashes, seems to be a helper program. It doesn’t seem to harm though.
For individual file downloads, you need to use the ‘pre-allocate’ method, which allocates space for all the files in the pack, even though you only need one.
It instantiates a separate instance of the downloading module (BitTornado, in the Python scripting language) for every torrent that is running, and as such is not very efficient with resources.
The ‘Settings’ menu option is not separated from the other options in the View menu with a separator.
It strangely doesn’t apply Cleartype font smoothing to the text.

Those things aside, it is a pretty comfortable piece of software, with all the necessary features, automatic downloading too, and a good detail view. However, because development has now stopped, I felt it is time to move on. I am also tempted by the promise of some clients to have a low footprint. For me to use anything else though, it needs to match TorrentStorm in features.

In hindsight, I think TorrentStorm can best be described as being a middle ground between ABC and Rufus.
