Display Port Cable & Hdmi Cable

Hello everyone.
I have created this thread as I need a little help.

Right now I use a Hdmi Cable plugged on my graphic card to my monitor. The cable version is 2.0
As my monitor supports Amd Sync, will a Display Port cable be useful for :
1. Better gaming performance than Hdmi
2. Better color enhancement for hd movies, games & youtube streams than Hdmi

What I really want to know, is Display Port cable superior than Hdmi 2.0 >?
What advantages do I have using a Display Port >?
Or is Hdmi 2.0 a better option>?

Any guidance or help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
