How to get Galaxy Radio to play in an external player:

The only problem with the Galaxy Player is that if you leave the lobby page while listening to the radio you lose the stream and have to press play when you get back to the lobby to hear it again. You can however open other pages in new tab, leaving the lobby tab open and it will continue playing. This guide shows you how to avoid this slight problem.

Here is are the apps the I know work with this method.

Winamp 5.8 - VLC (video lan client) - Foobar2000
They are all free apps and easy to find with the following search terms in Google Search. I haven't tried this in Bing or any other search engine.

Use these in search terms in Google Search to get the apps:

winamp 5.8 softonic - I've suggested this because I've read 5.9x is broken in some ways and is not tested.
foobar2000 download
vlc download

For me these gave a top result being the correct one.

Once you have 1 or all of these apps installed, download the m3u on the right side of the Lobby player at the top of the page. It's the blue text that says .m3u. Just click on it and it will download to your selected download location. I suggest you rename it to 'TGx Stream.m3u' and put it where you can find it easily. The Desktop is a good place to put it.

If it won't download for some reason, try right clicking on it and select 'save link as' and then save it to wherever you want to put it.

Once you've done that, you can open one of the above apps and just drag and drop the m3u onto the playlist window of Winamp, the Main window of VLC or the Main window of Foobar2000.

Double click the listing in Winamp or Foobar2000 or press the play button in VLC and it should start playing.

Once it's started playing you can then log out of TGx and it will keep playing. As the m3u is dynamic in nature it will play even if you don't have a browser open or not logged into TGx.

I hope you've found this useful. If you have questions you can ask here or PM me. Thank you and cheers all.

PS I don't know what a .xspf is. When I find out, I'll update this guide.

Thanks hayzee56:_moderator::_male:. That how I listen to the stream.

The only difference is I've setup the downloaded stream.m3u file to open with VLC.  I just click the file and it automatically plays in VLC.

Yes, VLC will do that but Winamp won't. Tried it and thought I'd leave it out for now. Wanted to keep it simple.
Cheers

An XSPF file is a playlist saved in the XML Shareable Playlist Format (XSPF) (pronounced “spiff”). It is similar to a .M3U file, but uses standard XML tags to organize and list media files included in the playlist. XSPF files are used by various audio players, such as VLC media player, AIMP, Clementine, and Audacious.

It is important to note that XSPF files do not contain actual video or audio data. They only store information about a playlist, which includes references to media files stored in the playlist.

NOTE: More information about the XSPF format is available at https://www.xspf.org.

Its been so many years since i used winamp but does it play m3u? you can try opening an empty text file on your desktop and enter in this and save it and try opening it in winamp.

Just save file as tgxradio.m3u :_:)

Last week I migrated completely from Window$ to Linux (Mint).  The stream.m3u file (saved one of my drives) works with either Celluloid or mpv Media Player.  Which for me is good enough . :_:)

Thats funny because mpv player is what i use and like for linux, its very basic yet i like it the best for when im testing live tv servers, also i tend to use m3u servers for music because some have a very good variety of music channels which i personally like when im online tinkering with stuff. So how are you liking the switch from windows to linux mint so far? did you find it hard to adjust ? and did you setup iptables ?
I've been tinkering for a few years with different distros of Linux setup in VM.  I have a personal web server running for a few years, I started it on on a Raspberry Pi.  It's now on Mint.  My travel laptop that I've had for 5 years ran different distros.  Since I start feeling comfortable with Linux, I decided to go all out and change my daily driver to Linux Mint.  No issues and it's running fine.  I even have a couple of Win based apps running on Wine.
