To seed: Resume all or seed individually?

Hi i`m on Qbittorrent 4.2.5, I`d like share and seed all my 5399 torrents but if i choose "resume all" the status of all torrents shows as queued and will sit like that forever without sharing nothing.

What i usually do is manually choose which ones to share sometimes to what titles i feel like sharing or look at how many seeds or peers, from lowest to highest from the columns then seed the ones with least, which is all very time consuming.

It could be Qbittorrent but cant upgrade to newer version as if i do torrents go missing (known Bug). or its my pc 1st gen core i7 quad core, perhaps i have too many torrents to share?

Ive looked at the memory used for qbittorrent and would expect it to be very high for "resume all" but seems to use only less than 500kb of pc memory. Is my PC too old? its from 2010.
Are there some settings/options within Qbittorrent to change? Whats the best practice if i want to seed 5399 torrents spanning 10tb.

Does Qbittorrent have queue settings ?
I suspect it does and you probably need to change them.

Thxs Battlestar that helped.  I`ve turned queuing off and they all changed to seeding and its uploading some torrents, PC memory has jumped to 1,237,616.

So now its seeding all 5399 torrents my downloads have grinded to a halt, even if i reduce upload speed the downloads wont continue? is that normal. should i just get my downloads first then seed all? or are there some more settings to try?

I would suggest not trying to seed 5399 torrents at the same time.

It will (as you noticed) eat up all your resources, and the tracker traffic alone will be huge, before you even take into account and actual upload/download. Also, if you saturate your upload, you will not be able to download much, esp on tcp connections.

now what you can figure out is how many you can handle without producing a huge lag on your connection and rig.
turn back on the torrent q
how it is set now...
you can only download 3 ata time after that they sit in q till one finishes thats cool ....

active uploads well set that to what you have .5399 done

max active torrents
this is the one that counts, that i would set at about 200 to start see how you run and go up or down from there till you or your connection lags a lil bit,  go down one from there and there ya go ..

the max active torrents will only allow that amount to run so if your maxed out and one guy finishes it will move on to the next guy in q and pause the one that finished allowing for a more even flow of uploads to run ...:_:)

respect brother, why dont you consider a seedbox, a shared plan will help you a lot.

Even seedboxes are normally set for 50 connections, but the ssd seedboxes can manage 400,
but this a long way from 5399 :_:D

I currently have just over... 300 going on my personal seeding thingy,, wouldn't reccomend 500+ unless you've got a *lot* of RAM, insanely-mega-fast storage and a hell of a good CPU

Just thought to clarify the 5399 torrents is stuff that ive downloaded over the years. When i asked about seeding them all at same time i was wondering how smart Qbittorrent would be and would it know to prioritize to those in the most need. i.e how long that person has been attempting to complete a particular torrent, would it be able to prioritize to least amount of seeds. Whilst i am very grateful to those who use a seedbox to give us these awesome speeds, i often wonder do we deserve this excellent service?

Here are my observations (not so much about seedbox but rather peoples sharing habits):
With the lowest internet package from my isp which is about 30mb/s. Often i will start a recently uploaded torrent (lets say the tv pack is 67gb)
This would take a few days for me to get maybe a week as also i dont keep my pc on 24/7
I will see multiple peers with ultra fast connections race to get this, within 4-8 hours this torrrent will have 40/60 seeds but as the days go on the number of seeds reduces dramatically, by the time this particular tv pack completed i am seeing 1/13 seeds online, within 2 weeks the torrent gets (sometimes) very hard to get. I hate to say i, but do people deserve your excellent seedbox services if they dont want to share?

For older torrents it can be painful with some taking upto 6 months to complete if ever.

Even tho i have a slow connection i may take some time 3x a week and look at which torrents show 0 to 2 seeds and make that effort to share from my humble home PC.

Whilst it may not practical to share all my 5399 torrents downloaded over the years;  if say 500 seeds shared just 5kb of bandwidth it would be enough to complete alot of downloads.:_B) i`d really love to know what people do with their stuff after its downloaded, i`m guessing they transfer it to another seperate drive or just save, watch and delete...

after i put it torrents  in my SSD seedbox i use FTP ( Filezilla )  to put it in my local drive immediately, then i delete it in the box after 2 weeks with 500 ratio or 1k depends,  I permaseed my fav torrent for example Smallville season 1 to 10  pack size is 135.6GiB ( gibibyte )  as of April 11,2022  Uploaded: 213720.3 GiB / 229.48TB   Share ratio : 1576.664 <3  :_pirate:_party:_O:-D
