| Can someone point me to how I can set it up directly on my router so all devices at home go through it? Is it possible to do so with an easy ON/OFF switch functionality? Do I need any specific firmware? I did some research on how to setup a VPN on the router reading out things like https://kb.netgear.com/23854/How-do-I-use-the-VPN-service-on-my-Nighthawk-router-with-my-Windows-client https://www.purevpn.com/download/router-vpn https://support.ivacy.com/setup_guide/how-to-configure-vpn-on-your-router/ so that I don't have to do it on all of my home devices, but sadly my netgear nighthawk x4 r7500 does not support dd-wrt. I asked a friend about this and he told me he has a server that has the VPN running 24/7 on it and its somehow connected to the router which provides VPN for the whole house. I read about port forwarding a bit but I still do not understand the concept. Is it even possible this way or is it only possible through the router factory firmware? | |

| i would advice to consult with your vpn provider. They can provide all the details which are compatible with your vpn service while setting up home router. If there support is not helpful i recommend to switch vpn service as support is the key to handle any issues. Vpn services like nordvpn and cyberghost have great support team and they assist you 24/7 and also offer amazing features in affordable price. Last edited by Mafketel on 2020-09-12 20:23:22 | |

| Just ask your friend who has his vpn on his router to add a socks proxy for you, depending on what router you have you can even use your friends vpn by connecting your router to his. Another way is if you pay for a vpn you can share the connection to another ethernet port and plug ANY router into it and it will broadcast the vpn ip through wifi. Theres so many ways to do this I suggest youtube for learning as there is just many many ways to accomplish this. Good luck brother! If you need help just pm me | |
