| I'm an old-time dBase and Alpha Four (now called Alpha Five) database user and want to simplify access, searching and playing for my music collection (several Terabytes in size). I have not been able to find an existing software cataloger/music player that is suitable for a mostly classical music collection. I would even be willing to custom build my own database application if I could get a copy of dBase or Alpha that would run in Winows 10. Any suggestions? Or, should I just be content with a nested folder structure? | |

| For extremely large music collections, I recommend MediaMonkey. It can easily handle libraries large enough to bog down other applications and comes with many other useful features, including the ability to create a list of all your music in PDF or HTML format. For listening to any audio format, I usually use JetAudio with K-Lite Codec Pack installed and have yet to find any audio file it won't play but to manage my 2+TB music library, nothing I have tried comes close to preforming as well as MediaMonkey. | |

| hello, in the past i use Aimp, and Foobar software 4 my 3000 audio cd, what i own you can try them and see the results beeter say, listen the result:D that i can say, foobar have the best sound quality | |

| Thanks to all for the recommendations. It'll take a while to work through the suggestions. I have used Foobar and, yes, it does have great sound quality. I'm not sure of how good it will be in cataloging. I shall look at that. Media Monkey is one that I'll start with. I like that it natively supports disk image files. I have looked at JRiver. It is certainly full featured but on first view I found it complex. I should look at that again. Finally, I hear that CATraxx is very good. Thanks again everyone! -=Paul=- | |
