 | Regarding the film itself. This is a strong, entertaining, masculine movie with an amazing score. As a work of heroic fantasy, it's well worth your time. However, if you're a fab of Robert E. Howard (and you should be), this isn't Conan. I urge anyone who is made curious by the film, to seek out Howard's Conan stories. You will encounter an author who writes tight, brilliant mythology, replete with action that jumps off the page and descriptions that will forever be etched in your imagination. |

| A "strong, entertaining, masculine movie"  And a lead actor obviously struggling with his own inability to even speak the language he was supposed to be delivering. Arnie's acting has never been good, and this is dire! No amount of being a muscled pin-up for the repressed gay male can make up for that. |

| Only the gay are desperate to see gay everywhere. As for Arnold and bodybuilding, it demonstrated his strong will to succeed; which he did in bodybuilding, Hollywood and even as a politician. Conan is larger than life, and while Arnold isn't a great actor, he shared some of those same characteristics. |

But when you're supposed to be acting in English, a command of the language beyond what his was at the time would have been good, and his acting -- not language or accent -- was truly awful. And frankly, it's not great now. |
