My HI subs helps in identifying characters. Very mild coloring so you can distinguish between captions, italics, music and spoken words. Please rate GOOD, it would be GREATLY appreciated ! Setting is good, the ship looks great and the cast delivers. Main character is pretty good, until they start with the "anti-racism message" which in a movie set on a ship in the 1800's is quite stupid. The director is good, but the script is unsalvageable: is EXTREMELY idiotic, and while most horror movies rely on the characters taking stupid decisions, here the whole situation is very, very , VERY stupid. There is a "girl boss" who is able to do what none of the sailors can, but she is mostly simpathetic and is not overdone. There was a reason why Bram Stoker didn't delve too much into what happened in the Demeter. Good for a watch if you are bored, but not much more. |
The fact of house on London of Vlad Tepes was pure diplomatic 😊 all movie of prince dracula is about harsh rough personality |
Grow a set... if diversity scares you that much get a dog or perhaps therapy. These are movies. Nothing more or less except you make them political by sniveling. If the movie is good i dont care who is in it. If you want a documentary then you are in the wrong section. |
Despite the excellent source material (Bram Stoker's Dracula is a great novel), and some fine movies previously made by André Øvredal, this film is rather disappointing, quite underwhelming. It just doesn't deliver. |
Hello all. Can someone explain to me how it is that a 720p version is top Dl'd? |
720p takes up less hard drive space then 1080p, and is still good enough quality to be enjoyable |
Dependds on peoples speed and how much space they have really, I always go for 2160P or 1080P if available as plenty of space and speed, but for most 720P is adequate and I guess depends on the movie. 👍 |
Thank you. It looks too scary for me - I don't like jumping out of my seat (but the adrenaline always makes me feel invigorated afterwards)! However, I'll give it a go because of it's Bram Stoker literary connection. |
Too bad we knew the ending before the story even started. Pretty much ruined it from the get-go. Kind of like the trailers and screenshots that lay out the whole movie start-to-finish beforehand. "What do you mean, Troy?" "Well, at the end, the whole crew is dead, Fred." "Correction, there was NO TRACE of them." "Well, that's not much of a mystery when they're 'at sea', now, is it?" "How do you figure?" "The murderer just throws the bodies overboard and then commits suicide by jumping in, him or herself. Or if it's a monster movie, the monster vanishes or whatever a specific monster is capable of doing to dematerialize. Case closed." "Then why in the hell did you watch it, Troy?" "I really don't know, my friend. Sometimes, a guy's gotta question the choices he made, and still makes, in life--and then ponder on the prospect of how he got to where he got to at the present ... and if that is really where he ever wanted to be and how he wanted to end up." Wish I would have passed on this one. It really was rather depressing, and as already alluded to, I knew the ending before it began, which is strangely included in the plot. Dollars to donuts, if all movie makers told the endings to their movies in their plot descriptions, no one would watch movies anymore. A/7 V/10 M/3 |
yeah, I totally get that! it's impossible to get anything at all out of a story once I know what happens in the very very end. I was reading this really good biography the other day, but then someone spoiled for me that the author dies at the end of his life and I couldn't read one single page more! /s |
Sarcasm is totally wasted on these guys, Guest-3666. But a good one, kudos! |
Actually, I empathize with GuitarTroy; I prefer not to know the ending before I start the journey. However, in this case, the literary work that inspired the film is widely known, so it doesn't cause harm to begin with the end (or a version of it). P.S. An amazing horror that takes place on a ship (mostly): Triangle. |
of course they tried "WOKING" this up..girl knows all about guns, but the males who actually hag the gun couldn't figure out to shoot the lockset. the one guy burns and screamed like a bish,,which is understandable, but the girl on fire, not one peep.. so a part two to this is coming..geezz |
An original movie, definitely worth the watch. Thanks for the upload |
