 | Howdy Galaxians! This flick is taking a beating over on IMDb so I decided to take it for a spin and see what all the fuss is about. This is a Snake Eyes origin story, and as such, it's not a bad story. The sets, stunts, FX and martial arts are generally pretty decent, but the wobbly close-up camera during fight scenes was a bit distracting. Of course it contains all of the typical martial arts movie elements; clichés, bad accents, shiny swords, Ninja E-bikes and everything else you would expect from an action movie filmed in Tokyo. I was waiting for Ultraman to fly in and make an appearance but was treated instead to giant mind-reading anacondas.  For me, it felt a bit slow at times, but overall, it was an entertaining flick for a rainy day. A/V is spot on. End credits roll at 1 hour and 54 minutes. Cut to the chase: it's not as bad as some of the IMDb reviews suggest, but not good enough to rave about. Rating it 7/10.Thanks, GalaxyRG. 🥂 |
