Legal nightmare: Trump bracing for NY Feds
"The Daily Beast" reports Trump is already asking his lawyers to stay on for months or years, far beyond the end of the Mueller probe to brace for the potential legal challenges posed by the open probes in the Southern District of New York. “Above the Law” Editor, Elie Mystal, tells Ari Melber “there is significant jeopardy up and down the Trump Organization” and while Mueller has “a limited scope” SDNY can investigate any crime.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to conservative critics: Bring it on
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is drawing new attacks from conservative tabloid, “The New York Post”, suggesting something nefarious about her living arrangements in D.C. and suggesting she no longer lives in the district she represents in the Bronx. Ocasio-Cortez disputes the reports. “The New York Times”’ Mara Gay tells Ari Melber that despite conservative attacks on Ocasio-Cortez, the question the Post raises is “relevant” and she believes the Congresswoman should “not just ignore press inquiries and then tweet at will”. In an interview with fellow Bronx residents, Desus & Mero, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez says the attacks prove her relevance, saying: "it's validation that you're doing something real".
Dem plan to force release of Mueller Report breaks on live TV
As everyone is on edge over whether Bob Mueller’s findings will be released, Democrats have hatched a plan to force Mueller to testify to Congress even if the Trump DOJ is unwilling to release the Mueller report. Democrats are issuing a new warning to Trump Attorney General Bill Barr: either hand over Mueller’s report, or they will hold hearings with Mueller himself, under subpoena if necessary. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent, Ari Melber, breaks down how the new threat is part of an effort to ramp up public pressure on Barr ahead of the report’s conclusion.
