The "progressive" Don Franco and the "conservative" Don Ciccio, priests in two different parishes of a Sicilian village, are, in reality, good parish priests, even if he divides them a total diversity of attitude towards the communists: inflexible that of Don Ciccio, more carefully pastoral than Don Franco.
