Iron Man 1 (2008)
Tony Stark, un magnate playboy le cui industrie producono armamenti per il governo americano, viene ferito e catturato dai nemici degli USA durante un test sul campo in cui si stanno provando alcune nuove armi.
I rapitori vorrebbero costringerlo a produrre armi per loro, ma lui riesce invece a realizzare per sé un'armatura speciale grazie alla quale riesce a fuggire.
Tornato a casa decide di non dismettere quell'armatura, ma anzi di potenziarla e di trasformarsi così in Iron Man, un nuovo supereroe nemico del crimine.

Iron Man 2 (2010)
Il mondo ormai sa che dietro alla maschera di Iron Man si nasconde Tony Stark.
Il sornione uomo d'affari subisce una grande pressione dal governo e dall'opinione pubblica affinché condivida le sue scoperte con le forze armate del Paese, ma in lui si agita un timore:
che armi e tecnologie così potenti cadano nelle mani sbagliate.
E nel frattempo, Tony stringe nuove alleanze che si riveleranno molto utili per fronteggiare un nuovo imminente pericolo.

Iron Man 3 (2013)
Tony Stark e il suo alter ego Iron Man si ritrovano ad affrontare un nuovo nemico che non conosce alcun limite.
Quando Stark trova il suo mondo personale distrutto per mano del rivale, si imbarca in una straziante missione tesa a trovare il responsabile.
Mettendo alla prova il suo coraggio e con la schiena al muro, Stark è costretto a ricorrere alle sue sole forze e abilità per sopravvivere e proteggere le persone a lui più care.
Mentre combatte, scopre anche la risposta alla domanda che da sempre lo perseguita in segreto:
è l'uomo che fa l'armatura o è l'armatura che fa l'uomo?
