They put up their own hard-earned cash to buy items at auction in the hope that they can sell them on and make themselves as big a profit as possible. Under Paul's knowledgeable eye, they have to decide what is best to buy and what will sell easily.
How will they cope with the pressure? How do you find a buyer for a huge fossil which is millions of years old or a 1920s desk clip in the shape of a pistol? Once their selling is complete they meet up again with their tutor who gives them a critique on their selling skills and then announces which of them has made the largest profit and proved themselves capable of dealing.

Paul Martin meets two keen antiques enthusiasts who want to learn how to be dealers. They spend their own hard-earned cash at auction to buy items and sell on and to try and make themselves a profit. Under Paul's guidance they need to decide what is best to buy and what will sell easily, as they don't want to be stuck with anything. He isn't with them at auction so it's down to them to make the right decisions.
Once they have bought they need to work out where to sell and how best to maximise their profit - how do you find a buyer for a large, old leather bible or an unusual Victorian sampler? Will they regret their purchases?
Once their selling is complete they meet up again with Paul to see who has fared best and which of them has made the most profit - have they proved themselves real antique dealers?
