Sound Choice were the best Karaoke producer in the World at one time.
They were an American producer of CDG+MP3 Karaoke and many of this collection have been re ripped from the original CDs for better Audio quality of 192 and 320 kbps from the original 128.
Sadly SC had a hissy fit over Karaoke piracy and turned on there customers forcing them to register there hard drives and other methods including rewards to shop a Karaoke entertainer playing unlicensed music and the backlash put them out of business for good.
There attention to detail not only in the backing track where often the original session muscians were employed to re record the song, but the backing vocals were an industry standard which has never been beaten since. In my opinion this is still some of the finest Karaoke ever produced.
Of course now many Karaoke backing tracks are just using the original recording with the main vocal mix removed at source but back then Sound Choice was as good as it got.

 | Interesting. Your comments support what I also felt 10 -12 years ago when I was really into karaoke music. As a lifelong singer beginning in the 50's, it was clearly obvious that Sound Choice was the "gold standard". The accuracy was excellent. I think I even wrote them and suggested that I would volunteer to "direct" their recording sessions, or maybe as a consultant. Of course, I never heard back. Thank you for the information I need to make some room on my hard drive |
