Plot:
Bastian is a young boy who lives a dreary life being tormented by school bullies. On one such occasion he escapes into a book shop where the old proprieter reveals an ancient story-book to him, which he is warned can be dangerous. Shortly after, he "borrows" the book and begins to read it in the school attic where he is drawn into the mythical land of Fantasia, which desperately needs a hero to save it from destruction.

 | No cuts were made for censorship in this movie. The majority of the cuts were made for pacing reasons. There is also a different music score. IMDB has a breakdown of the differences, and from what I have read, other than changing the music, it seems the "extended" version is more of a rough cut. I can't say which is better as I have only seen the "international" version, and that was soooooo long ago. I may need to download and watch both. Thank you JackONeill for uploading both versions. |

| The international cut is probably the one to go for and what most people are familiar with. The extended cut is a German version. One for big fans really. For regular viewing the international cut would be the one to watch, especially as it includes the famous song that everyone loves :) |
