Gus, un giovane miliardario, si innamora pazzamente di Lorelei, ballerina bionda con un debole per gli uomini (molto) ricchi e decide di sposarla. I due progettano un viaggio in Europa per coronare il loro sogno d'amore, ma il padre di Gus, all'ultimo momento, manda all'aria il viaggio. Lorelei però non vuole perdere l'occasione e, poiché i biglietti non possono più essere restituiti, parte con Dorothy, una collega bruna. Il padre di Gus invece, che sente puzza di bruciato, affida la sorveglianza delle due donne a un detective privato che si imbarca con loro sotto falso nome. Durante il viaggio però costui si innamora di Dorothy . Quando il terzetto arriva a Parigi le avventure non sono finite.
