50 years. Can you believe it? How did the years go by so quickly?

I'm old. I was born during the Truman Administration. I probably missed the first couple episodes, because it took a while for the hype to hit -- but perhaps by S01E03 or S01E05, my friends and I were gathering at our friend John's house because he had a color TV (and always had some joints, which seemed to go hand-in-hand with SNL). We couldn't believe how cool SNL was.

This isn't really a Christmas episode:

SNL's season was interrupted right after that episode aired by the Writers Guild of America strike and didn't resume until the strike was settled. After the 11-03 episode, the next SNL episode aired on February 23, 2008. That episode wasn't a Christmas episode (I checked).

But given the '50 Years' title, I *had* to have 50 videos, obviously. LOL

I had a few sources to select from, when assembling this collection.

These episodes are from sources that had the musical performances. To my vast disappointment, the bigger, higher-quality versions omitted the musicians.

I didn't watch them all of the episodes in this torrent, but my spot check confirmed that the musical performances are there. IMO they are all perfectly watchable, even though they're relatively small (357MB to 1.07GB, average ~700MB).

It's a trip, watching SNL over its 50-year history!
