Overview: Sam Sisavath currently resides in Houston, Texas. He is a fan of post-apocalyptic movies and genre fiction, drinks an unhealthy amount of Red Bull (which he is trying to quit), and steadfastly believes Kevin Costner's Waterworld has been unfairly maligned over the years. He will forever contend that a movie about a guy with gills who can swim like a fish and has to battle a crazed, eyepatch-wearing Dennis Hopper for supremacy of the seas is borderline awesome. He writes the kinds of books he enjoys reading and in his spare time relaxes by watching college football and the Houston Rockets and longing for the "good ol' days" of Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell swinging for the fences in Astros uniforms.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy

1. Glory Box
Follow-up to The Purge of Babylon post-apocalyptic series. FROM THE PURGE, A NEW BEGINNING. It's been six years since a terrifying breed of seemingly unkillable creatures emerged from the darkness to topple the unprepared governments of the world, in the process knocking mankind down the food chain. Survivors called it The Purge. A few brave souls rose from the ashes of the old world to fight back, often against overwhelming odds. Led by indomitable heroes, they risked everything to achieve a final, stunning victory over the supernatural “ghouls” in The Battle of Houston. Five years later, what remains of the ghouls have fled back into the shadows, and humanity now resides in isolated communities in relative peace. But human ambition and greed have also survived, and with no laws to stop those willing to pursue them, it’s every man for himself. Keo, one of the unknown heroes of The Battle of Houston, has found serenity in a small town in Texas. But he will discover that a violent past is not so easily cast aside when a madman rises to dominate those around him, and in the process shatters Keo’s new life. It’s a brave new world, but monsters still exist—and thrive. And where there are evil deeds, good people must rise to stem the tide...on the Road to Babylon.

3. Rooster
Keo has been in tough situations before. Some have been tougher than others, but he’s always managed to come out on top thanks to an innate stubbornness, the skills he’s honed from a previous life, and a whole lot of Lady Luck.

But Luck can sometimes be a fickle mistress, there are always people with more skills, and stubbornness has a tendency to bite you in the ass if you’re not careful.

Since leaving Gaby at Axton, Keo finds himself being stalked by a highly-trained group of humans in the day and hordes of the undead at night. Someone, something out there wants him, and it won’t be denied.

4. Devil's Haircut
The Devil Always Gets His Due. Keo has tried to stay out of it, but five years in the wild have only led him back to the one place he dreaded most—alongside a woman from his past and fighting someone else’s cause. Except this is one war he can’t turn his back on. What’s a reformed mercenary to do? Lara didn’t want this. Not another war to fight. She’s been struggling to bring order to chaos since The Walk Out and doing it with as little bloodshed as possible. But Fenton is forcing her hand, and sometimes you have to get a little bloody, whether you want to or not. What is happening in Fenton? Despite attempts to answer that question, the mystery behind the former collaborator town remains hidden. What is Buck planning, and why has he done the unthinkable and joined forces with a blue-eyed ghoul? What is their ultimate endgame? Those are questions Lara must answer before she commits forces to putting an end to Fenton’s rampage. To do that, she’ll need to rely on people she can trust to help her expose the enemy’s secrets to the light of the day.

5. Black
After five years of hard work, dedication, and too many sacrifices, Lara thought she had made progress in bringing what remained of humanity together in her small part of the world. She also thought they had seen the last of the ghouls as a major threat.

She was wrong on both counts.

An unnatural alliance between two enemies, forged in secrecy, has finally been revealed. With Keo away on a mission, the real threat is at the gates, leaving Lara, Gaby, and a city full of civilians unprepared for a long and relentless night of fighting.

The survivors thought the worst of times were behind them, but they were mistaken. Fenton was always just another front in a secret war that Gaby and Lara didn’t know they were still fighting. Before the night is over, they will discover that the only thing more powerful than hope is vengeance.

In Black, the fifth book in the Road to Babylon series, it’s all-out war, and no one will be safe.

7. Hollow
Paradise Found…and Lost. Lara left it all behind. The battles, the blood, and the sacrifices. She’s settled in a small seaside village along the Texas-Mexico border under an assumed name, determined to live out the rest of her life in obscurity. She isn’t starting over alone. Keo is by her side. Together, they have made a good life for themselves. It’s an unexciting life. A quiet life. A perfect life. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t leave you alone just because you want it to. The arrival of desperate men ruins everything, and Lara is forced on a journey across the countryside with Keo hot on her trail. Keo has sacrificed too much to just let Lara go now. His skills might be a little rusty, but all it takes is one good kill to get the juices flowing again.

10. 100 Deep
The spy game is no place for a hero. The ghoul apocalypse reshaped the world. It also changed people. Some for the better, often for the worse. For Keo, it’s the former. Well, mostly. He’s a changed man now that he’s found the love of his life, but when he agrees to help his old comrades at Black Tide with an important mission, Keo probably should have said no. But Keo being Keo, he didn’t. Shoulda, woulda, coulda, pal. The job is to gather vital intelligence that could have dangerous ramifications, as well as alter the balance of power in what remains of the United States of America. It’s a tricky business, this spy game, but if anyone can do it, it’s Keo. Or, at least, Keo hopes so. Or he might not see Lara again.

12. Ain't Goin' Down
NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME. It was a simple job: In and out. No muss, no fuss. Except nothing ever works out that cleanly for a man like Keo. His cover blown, he’s hunted through the woods before facing off against not one, but two old foes from his past; Keo has his hands full. And oh, there’s a new threat looming on the horizon that no one saw coming, one that could change the course of every survivor. But first things first: Keo has to deal with what’s directly in front of him. It’s fight or flight, and Keo has never been one to run. Then again, he’s never had to deal with something like this before. The conclusion of the three-part Shaker Town storyline.
