Textbook in PDF format
This book is an outgrowth of courses in “Cryogenics and Industrial Cryogenic Plants” taught at the Technical University of Munich over the past 12 years.
This course emphasizes process design and simulation of cryogenic processes. Consequently, the book specifically addresses topics and aspects related to process
design, rather than covering cryogenic matter in its entirety. This relatively narrow specialization of the book reflects the increasing professional differentiation within the engineering community. This trend is also observable in the technical literature about cryogenics: there are books tailored for physicists by physicists (such as [1–3]), for mechanical engineers by mechanical engineers (such as [4–8]), and for material property experts by their counterparts. However, there is a scarcity of literature on low-temperature technology specifically tailored for chemical engineers by process engineers, with only Isalski’s book from 1989 being mentioned. With this book, I endeavor to bridge this gap
