Textbook in PDF format

Embark on an exhilarating journey through the digital landscape with Microsoft Copilots, a suite of AI-powered tools that help you create, edit, and optimize content, code, and data across various Microsoft platforms. This book will be your indispensable guide to harnessing the power of generative AI within the Microsoft ecosystem, introducing you to various copilots and their impact on your business processes. The book will guide you as a manager to leverage Microsoft Copilot to improve your personal productivity, your team's productivity, and achieve your business goals with success.
This book is organized into five parts. The first part introduces you to Microsoft Copilot and its features and benefits. In the second part, you will get an overview of the integration of Microsoft Copilot with M365 tools. The third part teaches you about the maker copilot in Power Platform services followed by the business expert copilot for Sales and Service for Business Applications such as Dynamics 365 and Salesforce. The book also introduces you to Copilot Studio to help you extend the copilots or build your own.
By the end of this book, you will have a solid understanding of Microsoft Copilot and how to use copilots effectively and efficiently with various transformation platforms. You will also have a collection of tips, tricks, and best practices to help you get the most out of Microsoft Copilot.
A simple example of the use of Copilot can be that a user of Outlook can leverage Copilot to help draft emails, schedule meetings, and set reminders based on their conversations and email content. For example, if you’re emailing a colleague about a project deadline, Copilot could suggest a content that can be impactful and of high quality. Another example could be from CRM, where users can benefit from Copilot’s ability to extract insights, help prepare for customer meetings, and importantly summarize the latest changes in customer-related engagements. There are many other use cases that you will be able to learn in this book.
Microsoft Copilot uses a type of Machine Learning model known as a large language model (LLM). It doesn’t “understand” language in the way humans do. Instead, it calculates the probability of a word following a given sequence of words. LLM uses patterns that have been acquired from a huge amount of text data with which it was trained. When you input a sentence, Copilot generates the next word by selecting the word with the highest probability. This process is repeated for each subsequent word until a complete response is formed.
The core concept behind any Copilot is to assist and augment human capabilities. As mentioned earlier, Copilot is not designed to replace humans but to collaborate with them, aiding as needed. This is achieved through a combination of natural language processing, pattern recognition, and other AI technologies.
Microsoft Developer Tools such as GitHub, Visual Studio, and Power Platform have been integrated with specialized Copilots in specific solution areas. These Copilots aim to simplify the code generation experience and also help developers (pro or citizen) accelerate automation.
