A ship exclusive, for the first time published. This is the second album by Trio Galleta, which was originally released in Argentina as "Galleta Soul", and in Brazil (a country where Galleta enjoyed great popularity), it was published under the title "I Am So Happy". The difference between this edition and the Argentine one is that the songs were processed in stereo format, with the addition that the album is also ripped in FLAC format.
Now we will be able to enjoy the Trio Galleta with great sound quality thanks to the generosity of navigator Hector Antonio, resident in Brazil, who sent this material to share on the ship. Thank you very much Hector!!

Trío Galleta was a soul-rock band composed of Carlos Iturbide (guitar, vocals), Juan Carlos Saporiti "Juancho" (drums) and Aníbal Conte (bass). Another of its members, when the drummer traveled to Brazil, was Daniel Pozas (who played live)
In 1970, when the custom of singing in English already had little acceptance, they released their first album of covers in English, called "Soy Herido", on the Odeon Records label. The songs ranged from the album's title track ("I've Been Hurt" by Bill Deal and the Rhondels) to "Río Verde" (Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival) and "Enciende Mi Fuego" (Light My Fire, by The Doors), with a style known as Rock-Soul. Iturbide had a raspy voice, which was a hallmark of the band.
In 1971 they released an album called "Cookie" Soul" (published on the blog). Their influences were Otis Redding, James Brown, Ray Charles, Stax, Wilson Pickett, Johnny Taylor, Motown, Jeff Beck Group, Bill Deal & The Rhondels, Steve Crooper, Creedence, Southern Soul, Small Faces. But now they were not only covers. Eight of the twelve songs were written by Iturbide and Conte (who was in charge of the lyrics). racial problems.
At that time the band achieved great international success, especially in Brazil, getting a contract with Rede Globo, and occupying first place on the sales charts for 14 weeks, with Brazilian star Roberto Carlos in second place. In 1972, the song "I Am So Happy", by Iturbide and Conte, is ranked 37th among the 100 most listened to songs in Brazil. (Many years later, in 1986, this song will appear on the Brazilian collection "14 Discos de Ouro" (14 Gold Records), published by the EMI-Odeon label
As a last attempt, in 1975, Iturbide intended to continue with the project and decided to form his band again, a quartet that included Eduardo Sanz, as guitarist, Lito Olmos, on bass, and José María, on drums. . "Galleta" is released in 1975. "Soul" is still the main reason for the band's style, but they now include hard rock covers of British bands like Ten Years After. These were turbulent times in Latin America, so the album did not have the expected receptivity, which caused the band to break up.
In Brazil, Carlos Iturbide is considered one of the rock idols from Argentina. Trio Galleta's music has been influenced by several Brazilian rock bands such as "The Fevers".
