This is a tape source, it's not a bootleg release,
i get this beauty in mid 1984/85..in London.
In early 1970 to early 1980" it was impossible to find studio outtakes from Jimi...
evEry single Bootleg was a live recordings........or radio BBC recording...
OR incredibly horror Mike Ephrom tapes!!!
BUT, at a certain point a series of C90' tapes called "Record plant volume 1 ..to 7 "( i think seven was the last tape)
started to make the rounds be tween collecttors....
They were not "complete" session, only songs from a multitude of different studio location-s and date-s.
The "the legend" say it was Alan Douglas behind this proliferation of studio outtakes.
I got THIS words from many collectors, ( and i meet Alan Douglas myself, in Italy, in 1997.....)
he said.."DO YOU want some JIMI'S OUTTAKES?
..you have just to came to my office in Los angeles and i'll let you copy everything you want"
he said-> ...i dont have fear of low quality unedited Jimi's stuff makin the rounds, those tapes are all MISTAKES
and i cant use any of this stuff..".....
SO..there is( was) Alan Douglas behind this tapes?...we'll never know!
after this tapes came out, some NASTY "collettors" started to re-create new bootleg-s using/cutting/working
this "record plant "collection....meanwhile, others GOOD collecttors started to give date & place of every bits.
For example, the biggest job done by JIMPRESS guys.... "..From The Benjamin Franklin Studios
( now at 4th Edition ) in reality started as a chronological list of tapes of a English collecttor
he was using this list to do better trades with tape heads ( like me)
(JP)...and JIMPRESS guys completed the job with a mammoth WORK of research and...listen!
hats down to those guys!
OK?
This stuff had been released on CD boot later, sometimes better, but moslty on worse quality.
so, if you are an HARDCORE Jimi hendrix collettor...maybe you have all.
BUT we neeed new people in our circle of collettors, and i'm doing this for 'em......
