To Control the Stars by Xander Jade EPUB
The Alliance Governments were abuzz when NASA, the ancient old-Earth space organization, first announced it had finally cracked the secret to creating a wormhole. NASA claims they can control where it opens and ends. They say it will serve as a bridge to the adjoining galaxy, allowing human expansion to make an unprecedented leap forward. Unfortunately, opening a wormhole requires an immense gravitational force, the amount that can shatter planets and send ships careening out of control. Nothing as large as a black hole, but something far larger than Earth. A very large sun, for example. And the Someone needs to fly toward the heart of the sun, open the wormhole when they reach critical momentum, and pass through it to end at the set destination. Nate has been chosen to take on this mission. He was recruited by NASA after getting thrown out of the Earth Alliance Marines for disobeying a direct order. He ends up test piloting a new two-seater ship, but NASA’s calculations are all wrong. He told his superiors that the mission wasn’t safe and even sent the readings of his scanners on the ship. He had tried to flee but was caught up in the gravity of the rip in space and was sucked in. The wormhole closed as he entered, and Nate ended up in another universe and directly into a battle. A battleship is fleeing a battle fleet and his two-seater ends up in the fleeing ship. The ex-marine finds out there are prisoners onboard that stole the ship and are fleeing. Six alien lifeforms. They get away from the pursuing battle group and hyperdrive away after repairs are done with the drive that was damaged in battle. At first, he is held in the brig until they are far away from any Galactic Empire ships, but the battleship houses a Sensient (Quantum Intelligence) who bonds with him. Nate realizes that getting home at this point is impossible, for now, so he reluctantly joins their crew. For fans of Farscape. Join Nate in his adventures.
