Love Generation was founded in Munich in 1969 and was a German vocal ensemble. The founding members consisted of Gregor Cornely, Gitta Walther, Don Adams (left the group in 1974), the Dane Birgit Laury and Linda Uebelherr. However, the band members changed continuously. The final line-up included Gitta Walther, Birgit Laury, Peter Hedrich and Lucy Neale. Gregor Cornely's father, Frank Cornely, worked for the band as a lyricist, composer and producer and the founding members sang in his band "Cornely Singers" before Love Generation. At first the band only released German pop cover songs. Their first album in English, “Here We Are,” followed in 1972. In 1975 and 1976 the band took part in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest. With the song "Listen to Radio Again" they shared third place with Mary Roos, while the song about the inventor "Thomas Alva Edison" reached fifth place. In 1978 the band finally broke up, but former members Linda Uebelherr, Christina Harrison, Lucy Neale and Birgit Walter joined forces to form the band "The Hornettes" and had considerable success in 1981 with the title "Mannequin". The song was written by Ralph Siegel and Bernd Opinioner.
Spotlight was a music program for young people that was broadcast by Austrian Radio (ORF) between 1968 and 1978. It was the equivalent of a beat club or music store in Germany.
