The mighty Big Jim Sullivan was by far the most innovative, influential guitarist of the first generation of British Rock & Rollers. He carved out a big reputation leading Marty Wilde's celebrated Wildcats at the age of only seventeen, and was established as the UK's first choice session guitarist before he was twenty-one. This unique collection presents thirty-three killer sides recorded between 1960-62 on which Jim played lead guitar, either as an ensemble group member or session player. Groups include the Big Jim Sullivan Combo, The Krew Kuts, The Tom Cats and The Nashville Five, while some of the big names he can be found backing include the aforementioned Marty Wilde, Billy Fury, Johnny Kidd, Gene Vincent, Adam Faith, Eden Kane, Alexis Korner, Shane Fenton, Mike Berry, Michael Cox, Danny Rivers and The Allisons. Also included is an exceptionally rare live solo instrumental, taken from a 'Saturday Club' broadcast. Several of these will be a surprise to collectors who are not fully au fait with Big Jim's extra-curricular career.
