“Sam Dice” is a band from the city of Losser in eastern Holland, organized in the 60s by the brothers Frits, Arie and Harrie Ekkel. The band's style was clearly influenced by Dutch bands such as Cuby & The Blizzards, After Tea and Golden Earring. In 1977, the brothers managed to sign a contract with Ivory Tower Records, and the following year the album “Dutch Disease” was released (with a circulation of 1000 copies). It was recorded in the style of blues rock with elements of hard, psychedelia and progressive. While listening, you get the feeling that it sounds as if it was recorded 7-8 years earlier. It features good vocals, strong hard rock riffs, and long solos from the lead guitarist. Unfortunately, this release turned out to be the only one, despite the fact that the group remained active until the 2000s. They were a landmark of their hometown, continuing to perform in their favorite genres (hard, blues, rock and roll). The concert repertoire consisted of his own songs, as well as covers of “Jethro Tull”, etc.
