This is just the latest abysmal movie from a production company, "The Asylum", renowned for abysmal movies. It's an appropriate name though, as only a crazy person would think ANY of their movies are actually any good! If you like disaster movies about COLD they also have: 2012- Ice Age, Arctic Armageddon, 100 degrees below zero, Age of Ice, Apocalypse of Ice, Arctic Apocalypse, etc (that was going through less than HALF their titles). Then you've got the Earthquake disaster movies, the Volcano Disaster movies, the Monster vs Monster disaster movies and the Shark disaster movies. See where this is going? I lost count somewhere around 40 of how many SHARK related movies they've made, but they are the ones behind all 8 Sharknado movies (average IMDB score less than 3) as well 2 3 4 5 and "6-headed shark"), the four "Mega Shark" movies, etc etc. They MUST make SOME money, otherwise they'd go out of business, but god only knows HOW with movies THIS bad . A FEW of their BETTER movies (Dramas or RomCom's on the Hallmark channel) and one Series (Z Nation) have been shown on TV, but pretty much everything else was straight to DVD. |
how did they make money u ask? well fyi, usually this is another best way to launder money. usually rich tycoon launders money via chain of restaurants, clothing stores that has no customers buying there products etc.... making movies is just another best laundering money method regardless of the movie flop or not... |
With the rising of woke movies an tv shows, a new generation of cinema is rising: the "Flopbusters", destroying the creativity and quality of the good old Blockbusters and making people standing away from movie theatres. As a result of this, indie movies and B or Z movies (like The Asylum) will keep rising. |
3 out of 10 stars on IMDB from 30 users, and no trailer. Looks good... lol |
If you want MORE movies this bad (or worse), check out the production company's page at https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?companies=co0042909 |
Has one of the Baldwin Brothers in it so NoT gonna expect to much |
William Baldwin has been pretty much on downhill spiral since Backdraft (1991). Back then I thought he would fair better than his brother Alex. A 30 year slump ... a real shame! |
Not quite! Though the production company, The Asylum, DO HAVE several entries on IMDB's bottom 100 list (https://www.imdb.com/chart/bottom/). They HAD a LOT MORE before IMDB changed the ranking qualification from 1500 to 15000 votes to qualify, as most people don't care enough about their movies to bother voting. |
The Asylum had a lot MORE entries on IMDB's 'Bottom 100' list until IMDB changed the listing qualifications from 1500 votes to 15000. I don't think that many people have even WATCHED any of their movies , let alone caring enough to vote . |
I swear, I promise, I tried r-e-a-l-l-y hard... I made it to 20 mins. AND... 3...count 'em TH-ree WHOLE SECONDS!!... before I caved and quit watching. |
The Asylum sticks again with a movie so bad it shouldn't be shown on western tv. The movie is totally suitable for the feature on a Russian airline. |
Disaster/calamity movies like these need to have a big budget, Moonfall for instance, to make them watchable. Else it gets reduced to a group of curmudgeon dudes squabbling over the weather in a cabin. Also there's the matter of the Baldwin brothers. Will could have been the face of a great radio jockey. Now that's a chance gone a begging. Hopefully at least the diversity helps salvage something out of this wreck. |
You forgot to add the word "GOOD" at the beginning! GOOD Disaster movies have decent budgets, drivel like this DOESN'T . Then again GOOD disaster movies usually have a box office release ("2012", "San Andreas", "Armageddon", Deep Impact", etc) ... like this go straight to DVD, do not pass a movie screen. |
